Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip It’s time for a little confession. I realize this may get me shunned (especially in my hometown of Pittsburgh!) , but….I don’t like football. I don’t like to watch it, I never liked playing football with my friends, I don’t even like playing catch with a football. If there was one thing Mike could change about me, I’m pretty sure this would be it. That being said, I will watch the Superbowl. I like the party atmosphere, I like that the Steelers are playing, but most of all, I like the food. I saw this recipe on Jessica’s blog and made it the very next day. *Note: Jessica also has variations of this dip on her blog.

My daughter just recently celebrated her birthday.

As I was looking for cake ideas I came across this idea for making a rainbow cake and of course my daughter and I both loved it. Who wouldn’t want a rainbow layer cake for her birthday? I took two white cake mixes and mixed them up in a large bowl according to the directions on the box. Then I divided the batter into 6 different bowls. Each bowl ended up with about 1 and 3/4 cups of batter each. When each color is mixed, place batter into 6 separate round 9 inch pans. After all the cake layers have cooled, place your bottom layer (purple) onto your cake plate. I have learned the trick for getting a nice clean frosting layer without all the cake crumbs in it. This layer will have a lot of crumbs in it, but don’t worry, they will not show. Right after I have frosted the entire cake, I take my flat spatula and dip it into a tall cup of hot water.

The strawberries are hollowed out and filled with a bit of liquor, then ignited with a match. For the cake portion, I chose a One Bowl Chocolate Cupcake recipe because 1. it's quick 2. it is easy, and 3. it fits my prerequisite for a light ending on date night. I should say, a light ending provided you don't eat too many. The cakes are just sweet enough, and have a light, fluffy crumb - the perfect vehicle for rich chocolate buttercream. Peanut Butter- S’Mores Turnovers | recipegirl.com. Peanut Butter- S’Mores Turnovers I’m not much of a camper. My husband often takes my son on camping trips, and I happily stay behind and thank the gods for our bug-free house, cozy bed and well-stocked kitchen.

I always send them off in comfort… marinate a little meat for them to throw on the grill, pack up some convenience foods and bake a few goodies too. When they return from their camping weekends, I hear mostly about the evenings sitting around the campfire. Story telling, snuggling in blankets, singing songs and roasting marshmallows for S’Mores seem to be recurring favorites. Zebra Cake | The Whimsical Cupcake. Animal prints is something I never really got behind. It was something that I only saw on 75 year old blue-haired ladies that are way cooler than me or on kids who looked like walking cheetahs. Not really the look I go for. Lately everywhere I look, there’s something with some form of animal print on it and I find myself liking it.

Ok, not EVERYTHING but a few pieces here and there. I can probably attest some of this animal print tolerance to my sister, she’s so stylish sometimes that it kills me. ;) I’m not sure what kind of demographic I reach out there in internet land, animal print lovers or haters, but I’m sure your love or hatred won’t apply to this cake. It’s a zebra striped cake. I said it. This is a simple cake needs no pillowy frostings, no fancy ganaches, and no whippy creams. Chunky Chocolate Cheerios. This is one of the most delicious if not the greatest chocolate dessert of all time. Really. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer knocked on Santa’s front door.
