Frites & fries. Fudgy Kahlua Brownies with Browned Butter Icing | recipegirl.com. I’m excited to share a recipe that I twittered about the other day… it created quite the discussion on Twitter as well as puddles of internet drool: Kahlua Brownies with Kahlua-Browned Butter Icing. I was saddled with the task of sending a treat along with my husband (who was headed to a Laker’s game viewing party). Since I was creating a brownie for a bunch of manly, sports-obsessed men, I wanted to try something that had a bit of alcohol in it. These have Kahlua (can sub any coffee-flavored liqueur) in the brownie itself. I also brushed a couple of Tablespoons of Kahlua on the brownies as they came out of the oven… and watched it soak into the top and down through the warm layers.

The browned butter icing also has a bit of Kahlua in it. Although the flavor of Kahlua is prominent in these brownies, they were apparently kid-friendly… my little one loved them as much as we did. This recipe can be found HERE. Cheeky Kitchen: Goatherders Pizza. We’ve been addicted to musicals as of late. I huddled for the whole of last weekend with my children around the computer, introducing them to the musical stylings of John Travolta and Olivia Newton John in Grease. (Only the most–ahem–’appropriate’ songs were offered for their tender ears.

A few of the saucier options have been saved for never.) Shortly after our song fest, I had to run errands. Three of the kids wanted to tromp through grocery aisles with me, but my seven-year-old Jacob decided to stay behind. “Mom, can I play on the computer?” He asked. Three hours and fourteen reuseable grocery bags later, we errand runners returned home and discovered Jacob, still on the computer. His reply? Pushing play, Jacob proceeded to perform “You’re the One that I Want” in it’s entirety (complete with rhythmic strutting, a wee bit of groin churning, and a fiercly jutted jaw). I have to admit. Musicals, pizza, and pelvic-dancing. Grapefruit & Goat Cheese Pizza 1 c. ¼ c. ½ tsp. dried onions ¼ c. DivineCaroline: Relationships, Health, Home, Style, Parenting, and Community for Women. The Brownie That Will Change Your Life. Let me start off by saying that viewer discretion is advised for today’s post.

OK now with the story that preludes possibly the greatest brownie I have ever sunk my teeth in thus far in my life. Last Saturday Mrs. Zesty had a baby shower to attend and she was designated for a dessert/sweet treat for the girls. Last week was a bit of a zoo and I think I forgot about prepping this dessert until Friday afternoon at work. I knew time was tight and I didn’t want to spend all night Friday night to prep a dessert. This recipe, I cannot take any credit for and nor will I try as it is compliments of Nestle Toll House and as you can see from the reviews….

Thousand Dollar Bars.

Have you ever baked something that made you do the Daffy Duck? You know, the cartoon scene where Daffy runs about yelling, “I’m rich, I’m rich, whoop, whoop, yippee, I’m rich!” He’s bouncing around on his head, feet, hands, and rump in a spastic outpouring of sheer joy. Yep, the Daffy Duck. Not everything we bake here in the kitchen gets us to do the Daffy Duck. Sometimes we do the swoon, the table grip (hold me Ralphie, I’ve died and gone to heaven). On a bad day, we do the wine taster (small taste and a spit) or the Emily Post (napkin over mouth, remove offending food, weak smile). But on a really really good day, we do the Happy Dance (personal taste rules here;mine includes foot stomping and mmm mmm noises); and the Daffy Duck.

These Thousand Dollar Bars did just that for us here at KAF. These bars definitely remind people of Twix® bars, both in shape and taste, but OH, so much better when top-end caramel and chocolate is used. Preheat the oven to 300°F. Fried Dough Mozzarella Bites. These weren't as crazy amazing(cramazing?) As they look and sound, but they were still very good. They definitely need a few tweaks though to become a perfect recipe. The main issue which I knew might be a problem from the start is that the cheese explodes out of the dough well before the dough is finished cooking. Not really a huge issue because the burnt cheese tastes great, but I have a few different ideas to make these a bit more awesome next time I make them. Until then though, these guys weren't too shabby at all. They got snatched up pretty fast the night I made them! Little Cubes of mozzarella. I just used store bought pizza dough to wrap the cheese in.

Right away I dunked them into a bowl of flour so they wouldn't be sticky. You can already see the cheese explosions. Still, really fun and really tasty. I'm gonna revisit this idea, it might not be for awhile, but it's gonna happen. Favorite recipes.
