ParaView was developed to handle extremely large datasets on high performance computers and so is particularly useful for this scientific community. For instance, the Ultrascale Visualization and Climate Data Analysis (UV-CDAT) project is using ParaView in conjunction with other open-source tools to create a robust application for analyzing and visualizing remote and local climate data sets.
