Top 10 Holy Shit Gaming Moments of 2011

These moments are capable of producing a feeling of frisson, or a passing sensation of excitement—are the defining experiences that give us more reason than any other to play games. These occasions can happen at any time in multi player, or even in single player. Some of them are completely emergent—in entirely unscripted sections of the game—while others are tightly scripted by the developers to be memorable to players, who will recall them months, if not years after the experience. We have culled ten of our favorite moments in 2011's games from the multitude of games out there. #10 Teach me how to Dark Souls Dark Souls is an utterly difficult game. . #9 Skyrim - Fus Ro Dah This is something that each and every one of us probably wants to do to Lydia in the course of playing Skyrim. . #8 Dead Island - Reveal Trailer #7 Bulletstorm - Hekaton Sequence Bulletstorm is a vulgar, awesome game. . #6 Modern Warfare 3 - Eiffel Tower. These 14 Harry Potter Minecraft Builds Will Blow You Away

Hogsmeade, Azkaban and of course plenty of amazing renditions of Hogwarts itself have all been faithfully recreated by Harry Potter superfans. Take a look: Even Harry himself has been given the pixel art treatment by Minecraft players. Source: GissieGirl1313 One player faithfully recreated the Weasley’s eccentric house The Burrow. Source: Lynchyinc Speaking of Quidditch, check out this awesome stadium built by a team of French builders. Source: Gravi'Team The PotterCraft server has a very impressive version of the Room of Requirement. Source: PotterCraft The picturesque Hogsmeade village looks great when translated to Minecraft’s blocky style.

Source: Laroch This massive recreation of Azkaban has lots of imaginative details, like the pumpkin head “dementor” guards. Source: Jaykay This Hogwarts Express might not actually move, but its blocky steam trail and fully-modeled interior still make it very impressive. Valhalla Returns as Ragnarok in Halo 4. 343 Industries knows you love Valhalla, the pseudo-Blood Gulch remake from Halo 3, so it's gone ahead and recreated it for Halo 4.

Valhalla Returns as Ragnarok in Halo 4

In addition to the usual Banshees, Ghosts, man-cannons, and craggy rocks, 343 has introduced a new vehicle to the Halo universe: The Mantis. The Mantis is a pilotable mech with machine-guns, rockets, and a devastating foot-stomp. The bipedal robot seems to be effective against all other vehicles, but equally vulnerable -- other Mantises and Covenant rides can rip it to pieces, and Spartans can board and bomb it. I can't wait to launch this thing from a boost pad. IGN will have exclusive coverage of Halo 4 all week starting tomorrow, so look for more on Ragnarok and the Mantis on Thursday. First Look: Metal Gear Rex Collectible. The Metal Gear series has shown us a lot of enemies over the course of its 25-year run, and now, Kotobukiya has revealed its upcoming model kit depicting one of the most bad-ass: Metal Gear Rex, which was first introduced in 1998's Metal Gear Solid. Standing nearly 9 inches tall (1/100 scale), the Rex kit has multiple points of articulation, including legs that fold up allowing the cockpit to rest on the ground.

The collectible is comprised of 600 pre-colored pieces. Check out the images below for a closer look:
