Alice Gallery - The Word Magazine

http://thewordmagazine.be/culture/alice-gallery/ How long have you been working on your Art Brussels show? We started to think about who we’d like to include about eight months ago and then slowly started asking artists, because you never know if they’ll say yes.

BOOK OF THE MONTH (6): A.L.I.C.E. Gallery (Brussels) makes it on the list of 100 leading figures in urban art « Utopia Parkway

No: Bonom , that rising star of Belgian street art, isn’t in there yet. But the authors of that wonderful new book Beyond the street did find something in Belgium worth including in their list of 100 leading figures in urban art: Brussels A.L.I.C.E. Gallery . As Beyond the street combines pictures with insightful interviews I had no trouble believing the good people from Bozar Shop (Brussels) that this had to be my book of the month. It’s one of those richly illustrated art books that you find yourself actually reading in.

New Banksy's and More at MOCA's Art in the Streets

Banksy's Stained Window Today, we witnessed history being made. As the very first major U.S. museum exhibition of graffiti and street art, MOCA presented the media preview of Art in the Streets , an epic visual feast you must experience for yourself! Tracing the development of graffiti and street art from the '70s to where it is today, MOCA pulled out all the stops - educating us on the rich history, entertaining us with their "shows within a show" (live skateboarding, a re-creation of an urban street, etc) and inspiring us to find the artist within ourselves. Of course, the highlight of it all is seeing the art we've featured over and over again on My Modern Met, up close and personal. Though the MOCA is filled will incredible art and photos around every corner, we couldn't help but spend a large portion of our time hanging out around original works by our favorites - Banksy and Brazilian duo Os Gemeos .

From The Giant: The Definitive Obey Giant Site Biography Dolk Lundgren, or simply Dolk (Norwegian for dagger/knife), is a Norwegian stencil artist whose work has rapidly gained popularity since first being introduced to the masses via Wooster Collective (street works) and Pictures on Walls (POW) (commercially available prints). His "official" biography, courtesy of POW , stated, "The premier stencil artist in Norway and wise beyond his years, Dolk has been voted 'most likely to succeed' by his classmates at vandal school."
