Pretty. easy. sundress. First: the pattern!
Click below for more details! Measure around your child’s chest. Sadie’s was 21 inches, so I made the width 5.75 inches, + 1/4 inch for seam allowance, 6 inches across. Then I made the side seam 2 inches long (it depends on your child how large you want it but it can be big or small, depending on the waistline you want). I then used a pattern I had, or you could use a shirt, to determine the slope of the arm hole…then draw a shape similar to this one for the neckline/strap area.
Now draw out another pattern piece, as wide as your side seam (in my case, 2 inches) and longer by my width by about an inch. Then cut out your bodice pieces-2 pieces on the fold for the front, like so…and 4 pieces for the back piece. Ribbons are great for straps! If you want fabric straps, here’s how to do those. 1. cut out two pieces of fabric 6″ x 2.5″ 2. fold in half lengthwise, and sew 3. turn right side out and press. pin and sew around the top of the bodice…not the side seams yet!

Edit : la pose de la bande de côté est délicate ; bien la poser est primordial pour éviter que le manche ne vrille. Commencez par assembler le devant à la bande ; puis posez l'arrière sur le devant, endroit contre endroit, et épinglez avec la bande de côté (elle même pliée en 2) pour que le devant et le dos soit bien face à face (merci à Seve s'amuse pour l'astuce)

You may have noticed that clutches, especially oversized ones seem to be around in abundance lately, and I couldn’t help giving one a go seeing as they are basically a square with a zip!
This little project is quick to make, suitable for beginners and good for using up left over fabrics! My sample is made in some left over beaded silk georgette, which I laid over a fused sturdy cotton. If your fabric is a little on the light side you may want to try a heavier weight fusing. Spend a little bit of money and buy good fusing, don’t buy the cheap papery stuff as it wrinkles and creases and won’t give you a nice finish, plus it doesn’t tend to last that long!
