The Best Online Sources For Images Check out The “All-Time” Best Sources Of Online Images Jeez, there are sure a ton of ways to find images on the Web, as well as many places where you can find lengthy link lists to image collections. However, there might be instances when you want to use another tool — perhaps you’re a language teacher searching for just the right clip art or photography to illustrate a verb, maybe you have very young students and are concerned about what they might find on Google, possibly you’re particularly teaching about copyright issues, or you want your students to easily connect an image to a writing exercise and have them send an E-Card.

Two Stunning Trailers for ‘Tant de Forets,’ an New Animated Short by Burcu Sakur and Geoffrey Godet Tant de Forets is an animated short by french illustrators and animators, Burcu Sakur and Geoffrey Godet that was released on French TV earlier this year. According the the animators, the piece is based on a poem by Jacques Prévert by the same name that “speaks of the irony of the fact that newspapers warn us about deforestation although they are made of paper themselves.” The film’s illustrative style seen in the two trailers here is unlike anything I’ve seen before, with beautiful use of color, depth, and geometry that’s somewhat reminiscent of Charley Harper in parts but with a bit more depth. If you like this, here’s an entirely different experimental piece the duo created “just for fun.” (via Stellar)

The British Library Puts 1,000,000 Images into the Public Domain, Making Them Free to Reuse & Remix Earlier this week, Oxford's Bodleian Library announced that it had digitized a 550 year old copy of the Gutenberg Bible along with a number of other ancient bibles, some of them quite beautiful. Not to be outdone, the British Library came out with its own announcement on Thursday: We have released over a million images onto Flickr Commons for anyone to use, remix and repurpose. These images were taken from the pages of 17th, 18th and 19th century books digitised by Microsoft who then generously gifted the scanned images to us, allowing us to release them back into the Public Domain.

Pictures of Clouds and Sunsets - What a Wonderful World Long’s Peak – Sunset Pictures of Clouds and Sunsets credit: David Evenson These pictures of clouds, nature and landscape are really inspirational. Clouds are created when rising air, through expansion, cools to the point where some of the water vapor molecules “clump together” faster than they are torn apart by their thermal energy.
