Gazette du Bon Ton Antique Fashion Prints 1912-1913 L'Epousee aux Dentelles by Alex Rzewuski BTG19 $125 Each single print measures approximately 7 1/4 inches wide by 9 1/2 inches long. We at Panteek are unexpectedly entranced by the beauty of these rare pochoir illustrations from the magazine Bon Ton Gazette published by Lucien Vogel 1912-1928. Designed as a journal to appeal to the elite of Paris, full of high fashion plates and chatty articles on all aspects of life for the privileged, it transcends its mundane goals through the incredible quality of the publication from the high quality paper to the breath taking beauty of the prints and the high quality of the art throughout. Here in the so called “forgotten years” of the 1920’s we see the art that evokes the whole gamut of that fabulously creative era in France, from the Impressionists and the Fauves to the Cubists, Belle Epoque, Art Nouveau & Deco periods.

Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin The Nationalgalerie’s permanent collection at the Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart – Berlin features major figures and movements in art since 1960, taking up where the Neue Nationalgalerie leaves off. The museum reveals these artistic trends in all their diversity: the audacious redefinitions of painting, the continuation of traditional sculpture in object art, the special role of photography and multimedia concepts in video and film. A historically-defined exhibition style was consciously avoided in favour of an open presentation concept embracing all the media used by the various artists. Despite the striking spaciousness of its premises, it is not actually possible to show all of the museum’s work at once. The museum’s collection of paintings features works by Gerhard Richter, A.R. Penck, Sigmar Polke and Imi Knoebel.

Frog Frog 15 hits the newsstands in November 2015. Olympia Campbell is on the cover, photographed for Frog by Jüergen Teller at the Musée Picasso in Paris. This is a very special issue, as we celebrate Frog’s 10th anniversary! For this anniversary issue, Juergen Teller shot a 28-page super exclusive spread at the Musée Picasso in Paris especially for us, while Stéphanie Moisdon interviewed Bernard Picasso himself. Italian architect and designer Andrea Branzi, a member of Archizoon between 1964 and 1974, is featured in an exclusive interview for Frog with Chloé Valadie and Gaëtan Brunet –here he shares his provocative views on ecology, among many other things: “I am not interested in ecology.

Feather Wings Mural The past few months my students have been making feathers for a group mural. This idea was inspired by my friend and celebrity in the art community, Cassie Stephens! Head on over to her blog and check out her magical art teacher'n treasures at Cassie Stephen's Blog!! Her original inspo was international street artist, Kelsey Montague. Her inspiring murals challenge people to ask the question "What Lifts you" Dutch Book From 1692 Documents Every Color Under the Sun: A Pre-Pantone Guide to Colors In 1963, the Pantone corporation began publishing a bi-yearly color guide, which divides and categorizes every color under the sun. The astonishingly ubiquitous guide is an essential tool for designers of every stripe, from a fashion guru figuring out what color to highlight in her fall line to the guy in charge of creating a color palette for the interior of a new Boeing-787. Twice a year, Pantone, along with a shadowy cabal of colorists from around the world, meet in a European city and, with the secrecy of the Vatican choosing a new pope, they select the color of the season. They are the reason why you painted your kitchen Wasabi Green a couple years ago and why, whether you want to or not, you’ll be wearing Radiant Orchid next year. Slate did a great write up about the whole confusing process a while back. Over 250 years before the Color-Industrial Complex reared its head, a mysterious Dutch artist also detailed every color in the spectrum, only he did it all by hand.
