How to make and attach furniture legs. Today I am going to show you a great way to attach legs to your projects.

How to make and attach furniture legs

You can make the legs you want by cutting down a longer pair, find them from bed parts, or banisters, or even spindles. These pair of legs I am using today came from a longer pair of table legs. I am going to cut them down and make a shorter pair. I have such a pretty basement floor, don't I? Here you can see where I cut them. Drill a hole in the center large enough and long enough to fit the hanger bolts. The top part screws into the wood and the bottom half will fit into the insert nut that you see on the right in the photo above. The packages look like this. Here is an insert nut that I am putting in with an allen wrench (it has a little space at the top just for this). Hood / Hat + Scarf = 10 Free Scoodie Patterns. I was casting about (no pun intended) for an idea of what to blog about today, and decided to ask the moogly facebook fans… and hooded scarves were the answer!

Also known as scoodies, it was too much of a coincidence to resist – moogly itself got it’s start on a batch of commissioned scoodies made to look like octopi/squid! The rest is history, but scoodie patterns will always hold a special place in my heart. But enough about me, let’s get on to the free patterns! Pixie Scoodie (knit) – With Bulky yarn and a bit of time with the needles, you can be frolicking in the woods and toasty warm! This whimsical and free pattern is on Something with Llamas and Guinea Pigs, and is just too fun. BONUS UPDATE!! There are lots of variations on the hat scarf combo, but I think these 5 knit patterns and 5 crochet scoodie patterns are the best ones available right now – and they’re all free! Running Shoe Lacing Techniques. When most runners purchase their running shoes from a specialty running store (You are not still shopping at those big box sporting goods stores, are you?)

Running Shoe Lacing Techniques

They are already cross-laced and ready to go. Or are they? Did you know there are different ways that you can lace your shoes to make them more comfortable or to help customize your shoes for your feet? Here are some of the more common shoe lacing patterns that help combat some common shoe issues. I tried to find the brightest shoe laces on the brightest pair of shoes I own so that you could see easier. First, let’s cover the LOOP LACING LOCK. In this example, I have put the loop lacing lock at the top of the shoe. Then thread each loose end through the loop on the opposite side of the shoe. Pull tight to make loops smaller. PROBLEM: High Instep Near the toe of the shoe, start lacing with the cross-lacing technique. PROBLEM: Wide Forefoot From the bottom of the eye row, lace up the sides of the shoe. DIY Turban

Before you start, tie your hair in a bun or ponytail. Fold a large square scarf in half into a triangle. Lay the scarf on your head with the center point of the triangle facing forward and the sides hanging down each of your shoulders. Making sure most of your hair is covered, grasp the length of each side and bring them to the top of your head, twisting twice to create a “knot”. (click images to enlarge) Once you’ve twisted the ends twice into a knot, bring both sides together to the back of your head and tie it tight. Voila, you’ve just made a turban! fashion friday- turban headbands

And a couple of years back I started making turban style headbands so that I could wear my hair back (during that "in between stage") while making a fashion statement. And for the last couple of years I've been receiving TONS of inquiries about how I create them. So I have FINALLY put together a little tutorial on how I make them and wear them! 1. I always use jersey fabric because its nice and stretchy. You can get three wide head bands from a mens size large t-shirt 4. To wear I start by wrapping it around my head twice and then I layer the 2nd and 3rd once the same way. There are all kinds of ways to wear the turban headband- with your hair pulled back you can pull all your hair up into it and even layer different colors or styles-
