Spring is the season we look forward to as we can't wait to shake off the cold and dreariness of winter and start venturing outside again. No wonder it is called the season of rebirth as we only have to look outside our doors to see nature coming back to life. Spring may bring changes in the weather but there are still times when we don't know whether we should bake a Pudding or make Ice Cream? If the weather is still a little cold than you will probably opt for a rich pudding; whether that is a bread pudding where chunks of flavorful bread are soaked in a rich custard or the kid friendly rice , banana , chocolate or butterscotch pudding . There are two fruits that we attach to Spring; strawberries and rhubarb. http://www.joyofbaking.com/
This flavorful baked potato soup is loaded with cheese and baked potatoes, along with bacon, sour cream, green onions, and seasonings. Top this thick, delicious potato soup with the cooked bacon and green onions just before serving. It makes a fabulous soup supper with crusty rolls and a simple tossed green salad. In a Dutch oven or large kettle over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp. http://southernfood.about.com/od/potatosoups/r/r80219b.htm

Pancakes and French Fries » All Natural Hair Color and Condition

http://pancakesandfrenchfries.com/2010/04/natural-hair-color-conditioning/ This one is for the brunettes and dirty blondes. A while back I talked about trying henna as an all natural hair color method to cover gray. I did a crazy amount of research and ultimately chickened out. Henna is red. Orange-red. From what I read on henna-friendly websites, there was a risk my gray would sop up that henna and turn orange despite the addition of other plant-based dyes.
For the Seattle Bake Sale for Share Our Strength last weekend I made blueberry cobbler baked in half-pint jars. I found the jars to be fantastic for bake sale purposes and would work splendidly for picnics as well. I think using larger jars (pint sized) for bigger portions would work out just as well. Since the jars themselves they looked strange (like I was selling jam, maybe?) I created labels printed on cardstock and cut to fit nicely between the layers of the screw on lids. On the back of the labels I put suggestions on other things to do with the jars, things we use them for are storing seeds from annuals, shaking vinegrette dressing and sipping bourbon from them.

Eggs Baked in Tomato Sauce « C and C Dish

Eggs baked in the oven with Tomato Sauce and Cheese. Bake at 350F for 20 – 25 minutes, or until the egg whites are cooked thoroughly. I got this recipe out of a cookbook called Miserly Meals, I decided to try this recipe because it is not something I would normally want to try. I am trying to stretch a little and try some more things. Now I really don’t have anything particularly bad to say that’s why I included the recipe on this blog, however it is not something I really liked.

We do not guarantee that any of the above information is in any way accurate. For instance, it was pointed out recently that vegemite is unfit for human consumption upon opening. ( We agree - it's vile stuff). However, tests show it is an effective form of reactor shielding. As a note , we did not write the above table. We stole it from some weird day planner we saw somewhere back in 1997. We 're not trying to get credit that's not ours. http://backtable.org/~blade/fnord/condiments.html

Mozzarella stuffed garlic roll recipe

There is nothing better than eating a fresh garlic knot straight from the oven. Its crispy exterior glistening with a slathering of garlic and melted butter coupled with the rolls soft and chewy interior – it’s delicious. Typically, garlic knots have a sprinkling of parmesan cheese over the top of the rolls; however the Norfolk Cooking Examiner wanted to experiment using more cheese. In addition to cheese on top, she stuffed the garlic rolls full of mozzarella cheese. When the rolls are baked, the cheese inside becomes molten and occasionally leaks out forming a brown cheesy crust.
