How to Build a Pergola - DIY Building a Pergola

So, why build it? Because in the absence of walls and a roof, it defines an outdoor space without constraining it. It's a unique architectural blend that places you both inside and out at the same time. The structure is called a pergola, and it's just the thing to bring backyard landscaping to life. Pergolas were common features of Italian Renaissance gardens, often covering walkways or serving as grape arbors. Our pergola fits on an 8-ft. square, but it's easy to modify it to suit your site. Pallet loungers

Someone requested a tutorial and I'm happy to oblige, especially since I was planning on doing that anyway when they were all done. At the time they were only primed white and now they're a bright and luscious red :) So I took a few more pics and decided it was tutorial time! Fruit Wooden Box Table. Hoy quiero enseñaros una de los primeros DIY para mi casa, esta mesa hecha con cajas de fruta.

Fruit Wooden Box Table

Besitos. Dixie Cup Garland. Aug 10 Cuteness alert coming right at you, but how fun is this little DIY project, guys?

Dixie Cup Garland

I found the original inspiration on Pinterest (the ‘lamp shades’ were covered in Hallowe’en hued paper) but figured I’d give it a go using my fave hues. Wouldn’t this garland be absolutely fabulous for a bridal shower, an outdoor wedding and or even the most perfect addition to a nursery in lieu of a night light? Check out the awesome step by step photos below shot by the always wonderful Jenna. Stone Heart. Hanging Chair. I am on the prowl for a hanging wicker basket chair for our home.

Hanging Chair

I fell in love with these chairs on a recent vacation where every balcony at the hotel had one. It is super cozy and it brings you back to childhood days no matter how old you are. That one (above) was big enough for hubby and I to doze off in almost every night and I thought, how fun would it be to have this at home...In the living room, our room or even in the kids room-hung low enough for them to climb in and out for story time or nap time.
