39 Easy DIY Ways To Create Art For Your Walls. Tic Tac Vases. My husband loves orange tic tacs almost as much as Paulie Bleaker, and we have a lot of these empty containers laying around.

Tic Tac Vases

So, I decided to up-cycle them into mini bud vases. They work wonderfully together and look great lined up too. All you will need are some old magazines and tic tac containers. Here’s how to make them… Grab some empty tic tac containers and remove all the sticker labeling with soap and water. CD Art. Making a Pouf.

Add a burst of color to your room with this crafty pouf!

Making a Pouf

At 17” wide and 10” deep, it’s large enough to serve as floor seating or a foot stool. (And if you have pets, I have a feeling they may want to make this their new favorite spot!) This project is a little challenging to sew, but it’s not too difficult, so if you’re comfortable with the basics of sewing, give it a try. You can make a colorwheel effect with a range of solid colors, or choose a variety of patterned fabrics for a louder patchwork effect. Medium-weight cottons work well for this design (check out quilting shops for great selections of solids and prints). I love the idea of making a set of these poufs in a range of sizes, for a sculptural stack of cushions that will become a room element in their own right.

Fasten twines on the empty frame and hang photos using clothes pins on them. Hula Hoop Rug. Shag Pillow. *no animals or plants were hurt in the making of this project.

Shag Pillow

*one really stupid person did get hurt in the making of this project, but she would like to mention that even though the needle penetrated...no swear words passed her lips. it's was a modern day miracle. i love how this pillow turned out. i made it in green for two reasons: 1. it's still kind of cold here, and still kind of brown...will be for a little bit longer so i wanted some GREEN and springy looking happiness in my home. 2. it's the only color of jersey i had on hand, and living in the middle of nowhere doesn't let me just jump in the car and go to a store that i can find jersey fabric at (which btw this fabric was found at jo-anns but i would suggest amazon if you can't find what you are looking for, that's where i get a lot of mine when i can't find stuff) now lets get started: cutting: *cut from jersey fabric 19 strips at 1 1/2" each.

*from each of the 19 strips cut 15: 4" length rectangles. The end. Film Lamp. So in my never-ending quest to avoid business work, and re-decorate my entire house without spending more than $20, I bring you the “new” addition to my bedroom: the 35mm Film Side-Table Light!

Film Lamp

I made it by ripping apart an old side table light I had purchased with an ex, so I was more than happy to make it into something way cooler (and of course, rip it apart). It was originally this rather tacky oriental-inspired, flimsy lantern thing, with textured paper (it’s not that it was entirely that ugly, but it was brown, black and white, and I wanted colour!). It was all really easy to do. All I did was take the wooden sides apart, and rip the bamboo and paper out (that was surprisingly easy, it looked like it was hot glued in there with only about 6 dots of glue). I spray painted the wooden frame yellow, and glued three bands of 35mm film into the back.

Alcohol Lamps. Glowing jar. Thank you for being here and looking at this old-old tutorial of mine!

A 'love'ly Canvas. Melted Crayon Art. Perhaps I should begin this post by introducing you to my mom, also known as Her Ladyship Craftiness…er, Her Royal Craftiness?

Melted Crayon Art

I’m still working on the title. Regardless, she’s the coolest, most creative and talented woman I know. She can make pretty much anything. At least once during high school, I borrowed a friend’s purse, brought it home to Mom, and she whipped one up just like it for me. Yes, I probably abused the power of being Her Ladyship’s daughter, and I no longer steal my friends’ purses, but the point is: my mom is awesome. If you follow Young House Love, Bower Power, Making a House a Home, or Style by Emily Henderson you know how timely her visit was, as today is the big reveal for the Pinterest Challenge.

The supplies were pretty simple: canvas, crayons, and hot glue. The next step was to peel off the paper labels from all 60 crayons.
