Personal Alignment Precedes Group Flow « emergent by design

I spent last week in an immersive personal development / coaching / business development retreat with a colleague, which spurred me to some new insights and opinions about collective intelligence, co-creation, and the general pursuit of goals and growth in life. The hosts were the same team that ran a culture-hacking bootcamp at Agile Boston a few months back, who were kind enough to invite us to Seattle to be facilitated through a longer team alignment process together. I went in with curiosity moreso than expectations, having a general understanding that we would do some kind of work that would clarify our agreements as well as sketch potential business models and strategies. I found myself a bit surprised by the deep dive we took into exploring emotions and desires as the entrypoint for the sessions. http://emergentbydesign.com/2012/04/26/personal-alignment-precedes-group-flow/

BBC News - Gene Sharp: Author of the nonviolent revolution rulebook

In an old townhouse in East Boston an elderly stooped man is tending rare orchids in his shabby office. His Labrador Sally lies on the floor between stacks of academic papers watching him as he shuffles past. This is Dr Gene Sharp the man now credited with the strategy behind the toppling of the Egyptian government. Gene Sharp is the world's foremost expert on non-violent revolution. His work has been translated into more than 30 languages, his books slipped across borders and hidden from secret policemen all over the world. As Slobodan Milosevic in Serbia and Viktor Yanukovych in Ukraine fell to the colour revolutions which swept across Eastern Europe, each of the democratic movements paid tribute to Sharp's contribution, yet he remained largely unknown to the public.

Gene Sharp - Trois livrets pratiques

America is a nation built on the masses standing up in order to make a change. Holding meetings, building up collective boycotts, protesting the current way of life and, in extreme cases, revolting against the powers that be, have lead to the current state of our union… until that inevitably changes, of course.

Leaderless resistance - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Leaderless resistance , or phantom cell structure, is a political resistance strategy in which small, independent groups ( covert cells ), including individuals (solo cells), challenge an established adversary such as a government. Leaderless resistance can encompass anything from non-violent disruption and civil disobedience to bombings , assassinations and other violent agitation . Leaderless cells lack bidirectional, vertical command links and operate without hierarchal command. [ 1 ] While it lacks a central command, the concept does not necessarily imply lack of cooperation.
