Frozen Banana-Peanut Butter-Chocolate Chip Milkshakes. You may have heard about one-ingredient ice cream, one of our all-time most popular recipes here at The Kitchn. It's a marvelous trick of a treat, made from frozen bananas that have been whipped furiously into a smooth, dreamy dessert. And yes, it tastes (and scoops) just like soft-serve ice cream. Well, the same science applies to milkshakes, and it led us to this: a thick, creamy, chip-studded shake that's lighter than our usual milkshake indulgences, being entirely ice cream-free (i.e. OK for breakfast). See ya next week! - Dan I love jello shots. if you know me personally then you have most likely had my jello shots at least once because ill take pretty much any excuse to make them.

Jello + alcohol = awesome Now when I first tell people about my obsession with jello shots I think they immediately flash back to some college party where there were two types of jello shots: green with a handle of ten dollar vodka and yellow with a handle of ten dollar rum. The basic method is as follows: boil one cup of water, add one packet of jello, mix two minutes (don't skimp on this it will be grainy!) My basic tools. bowl and spoon for mixing, flat measuring cup for easy measuring of liquids, ladle and spouted measuring cup for filling. I get these little cups at a restaurant supply store. So I have a new hire who is about to bartend her first bartending shift and I was about to e-mail her 30 drinks every bartender should know and looking for a list (so I wouldn’t have to make it) and almost every list I found was absolutely ridiculous.

Or the Freddy Fudpacker (aka The Cactus Banger) – once again NEVER HEARD anyone order either of these ever ONCE. Elusive Ecto-Cooler Recipe Revealed? Homemade recipe for Ecto Cooler just in time to practice for Halloween! The mid to late 80s represent the bulk of my memories from childhood, from films like Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade to Aliens and, yes, even Cannon Films’ Masters of the Universe. It was also a great time to be a Ghostbusters fan with both films and a popular animated series (The Real Ghostbusters) proving to be pretty damn popular. Merchandising tie-ins came quick and along with the scores of comics, apparel and action figures came Hi-C’s famous Ecto-Cooler drink.

Strangely enough, the drink has become almost as well-known and popular as the films and cartoon that spawned it with countless articles dedicated to it like this one from X-Entertainment’s Matt Caracappa. According to Wikipedia, Ecto-Cooler even continued to be release well into the early millennium (2001) going by the pseudonym of Shoutin’ Orange Tangerine. Get the recipe, our review, and some ideas for using this sweet liqueur below. We love the idea of making our own liqueurs, and we've been wanting to try this milk liqueur ever since we saw it in David Leite's most recent book The New Portuguese Table. Simply made by mixing vodka or grappa with an equal amount of milk and sugar, it just seemed so unusual and fascinating. The hardest part about this liqueur is waiting for it to infuse. It needs ten days in a dark corner of your kitchen, where the vodka slowly turns from clear to bright yellow.
