I love it when I come across such educators curated lists of apps because I know since these apps are reviewed by fellow teachers then there is a high possibility that they will work for other teachers in different settings too. For instance, the wonderful work embedded below and which has been created by the folks in St.Plunkett Oliver Primary School is a great library of apps that every teacher should have the chance to explore.

It contains a set of useful apps pertaining to different categories. Most, if not all of these apps, have been already reviewed here in Educational Technology and Mobile Learning before but it is much more practical to see them compiled and organized all in one page. I wish the titles of these apps were clickable so that it saves you time when trying to access them but given the way they are now, you will have to type in the name of the app and Google it to access it in iTunes app store. Download Published: 2016Revision: 1.0Format: A3File type: pdfFile size: 8Mb Following on from the evident world-wide success of our iPad and Android App Wheels for learners with dyslexia, we have been encouraged to produce a similar poster for ChromeBooks, which have become very popular in the USA and are starting to make inroads into schools in the UK.

In view of the distinction between Apps and Extensions in the Chrome operating system, we quickly realised that a 'wheel' would not work, so we opted for a 'wall', with Apps represented by yellow bricks and Extensions by red. As with the app wheels, we have attempted to categorise the apps, but this has not always been easy. In the case of some of the multi-function extensions and apps, e.g. Read&Write, we tried to place them into the most appropriate category, but we recognise that they could easily be placed in more than one category. We are very grateful for the help of Mike Marotta in producing this poster.

WriQ – Google Docs add-on. Color Code and Organize Your Google Drive - Ladybug's Teacher Files. It seems like I rely more and more on my Google Drive each year of my teaching. I upload my favorite resources to folders, create docs for my students to use in Google Classroom, store maps for Social Studies, upload photos of our Science experiments...there is just so much you can do with the drive. And I really love how easy it is to organize your files. But, truth be told, I was never a big fan of the layout and colors. A sea of gray folders is never really helpful when you are a busy teacher trying to find docs on the fly. And, while you can colorize the folders, there is only so much control over the order they can be displayed. Or is there? I've had my folders colorized for a few years, but I learned something new. And it gets better. You can even include some basic symbols to organize those folders even further: Would you like to try?
