social networks analysis
A social network is a social structure made up of a set of actors (such as individuals or organizations) and the dyadic ties between these actors (such as relationships, connections, or interactions). A social network perspective is employed to model the structure of a social group, how this structure influences other variables, or how structures change over time. [ 1 ] The study of these structures uses methods in social network analysis to identify influential nodes, local and global structures, and network dynamics. Social networks are distinct from information , biological , or electrical networks , but theories and methods generalizing to all of these complex networks are studied in the field of network science . [ 2 ] [ 3 ] Social networks and the analysis of them is an inherently interdisciplinary academic field which emerged from social psychology , sociology , statistics , and graph theory .Dunbar's number - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dunbar's number is a suggested cognitive limit to the number of people with whom one can maintain stable social relationships . These are relationships in which an individual knows who each person is, and how each person relates to every other person. [ 1 ] Proponents assert that numbers larger than this generally require more restrictive rules, laws, and enforced norms to maintain a stable, cohesive group . No precise value has been proposed for Dunbar's number. It has been proposed to lie between 100 and 230, with a commonly used value of 150. [ 2 ] Dunbar's number states the number of people one knows and keeps social contact with, and it does not include the number of people known personally with a ceased social relationship, nor people just generally known with a lack of persistent social relationship, a number which might be much higher and likely depends on long-term memory size.Six degrees of separation. Six degrees of separation refers to the idea that everyone is on average approximately six steps away, by way of introduction, from any other person on Earth, so that a chain of, " a friend of a friend " statements can be made, on average, to connect any two people in six steps or fewer. It was originally set out by Frigyes Karinthy and popularized by a play written by John Guare . Theories on optimal design of cities, city traffic flows, neighborhoods and demographics were in vogue after World War I . These [ citation needed ] conjectures were expanded in 1929 by Hungarian author Frigyes Karinthy , who published a volume of short stories titled Everything is Different. One of these pieces was titled "Chains," or "Chain-Links."

Medium to large-sized advertising agencies divide their work into various departments, traditionally splitting functions into interacting with clients and looking out for their interests (account management), buying advertising (media), and creating advertising (creative). As the importance of the voice of the consumer has grown, around 18 years ago, ad agencies introduced a new discipline from the UK called account planning. Account planning brings the consumer into the process of developing advertising.Thomas Day Associates - The Ten Step Planning Methodology
