At the recent IBM Impact 2011 conference, IBM has announced an open source project called Maqetta that provides WYSIWYG visual authoring of HTML5 user interfaces. The application itself is authored in HTML, supporting several features such as drag and drop to create user interfaces for desktop and mobile. It doesn’t requires any additional plugins or downloads at the end-user. The HTML pages that created by Maqetta allows rich user interfaces, multimedia and graphics perform fast using open standard and are working across all popular browsers, such as latest version of Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari and on mobile devices including iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Window 7 Mobile.

Firstly open up photoshop and create a new document 900 x 845 pixels, fill your background layer with the color white if it isnt already. For our background i also want to add some stripes to it so create a new document 4 x 4 pixels with a transparent background. Zoom in 1600%, select the “pencil” tool and a 1 pixel brush, create 4 squares like this. Now goto “edit > define pattern” label your pattern lines or anything you see fit. close that document and revert back to your first document that you made. Create a new layer above your background layer and label it “background lines” select the paint bucket tool at the top under the menu change forground to pattern.

Load my car sales layout into photoshop (if you haven’t got the layout already made, go here to make it). Once opened in photoshop we will need to assess what were going to need. The layout im using is pretty easy and most of it can be done in css. We will start with the header, select your desired cutting tool and cut out your header, paste it to a new document. Now when i pasted it to a new document i noticed the size 850×151. To make things easyier for ourselfs goto “image > image size” and resize your image.CSS / HTML
