Pete and Pete Cast Reunion

http://www.themarysue.com/pete-and-pete-cast-reunion/ by Susana Polo | 1:12 pm, November 22nd, 2011 The Adventures of Pete & Pete ran for twenty-six short films, five half-hour specials, and three seasons of actual greenlit television, the poster kid/show/kid’s show for that early 90′s Nickelodeon sense of “How did anyone know that this was a good idea?” (A feeling just on the other side of “Why did anyone think this was a good idea?”) Our favorite quote from this Saturday’s cast reunion in Los Angeles? We were writing for a certain kind of kid, and I guess it was all you folks here today.

Jellyfish Lake is a marine lake located on Eil Malk island in Palau. Eil Malk is part of the Rock Islands, a group of small, rocky, mostly uninhabited islands in Palau’s Southern Lagoon, between Koror and Peleliu. It is notable for the millions of golden jellyfish which migrate horizontally across the lake daily. photo source Jellyfish Lake is connected to the ocean through fissures and tunnels in the limestone of ancient Miocene reef. However the lake is sufficiently isolated and the conditions are different enough that the diversity of species in the lake is greatly reduced from the nearby lagoon.

Maria-Luisa (dite Coré)

In this design, John Galliano for Dior combined the elements of a robe à la française with the vast crinolined silhouettes of the mid-nineteenth century. The stomacher, open overskirt, and petticoat are expressly eighteenth century, but the huge wired cages that support the skirts over nine feet wide are constructed more like the hoops of the Second Empire than the discrete by comparison panniers of the ancien régime. While the eighteenth-century woman could at least sidle through a doorway, Galliano's beauties, because of the depths of their skirts, would have to torque and deform their hoops to squeeze their way through.

After going missing for half a century, and being declared extinct in 1996, the Hula painted frog was spotted in northern Israel this week. The species, which has only ever been seen in Israel's Hula Valley, was last encountered in the 1950s, and was never around that much to begin with - only five Hula painted frogs have ever been collected, four in the '40s and one in the '50s. Israel's Nature and Parks Authority says "the species now has another chance to survive".
