It’s a familiar topic that keeps rearing its ugly head during divorce. It seems yet another person is capable of opening their mouth to voice their particular thoughts on divorce. Now, I can’t place more emphasis on the fact that these misguided people simply have no clue what divorce really is. I can’t imagine if they truly did, that they would believe extolling their personal judgements on an already suffering and weakened human being would be the right thing to do.

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) ushered in a whole new world for people who need individual insurance.
Before the ACA, you could be denied insurance because of a pre-existing condition—even something as minor as acne. Your premiums and deductibles were determined based on your health and gender. In addition, few plans offered maternity care or mental health services, and there was no guarantee your plan would be renewed each year. Under the ACA, however, much of that changed. Today, plans offered on the individual insurance exchanges are “guaranteed issue,” meaning insurance companies can’t discriminate against you because of a pre-existing condition or your gender.
7 Things Small Business Owners Should Know About Health Insurance Today. Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), companies with 50 or more full-time equivalent employees have to offer their employees affordable health insurance by January 1, 2015.
If they don’t, they face the possibility of paying a penalty. But what about small businesses? A Guide to Out of Pocket Costs. If you find healthcare costs to be confusing, you’re in good company. Not long ago, a study published in the journal Health Economics found that just 14% of Americans surveyed could correctly answer multiple-choice questions about deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and maximum out-of-pocket costs.
Just half could correctly answer questions about the cost of various health services, and only 11% understood how much they’d pay if they were hospitalized. Those are scary statistics, particularly since the cost of health insurance and medical expenses takes up an ever-increasing percentage of your income. Do You Have the Right Health Insurance? Choosing health insurance, whether your employer offers it or you’re buying it yourself, can be complicated. If your employer offers health insurance, you may have more than one plan to choose from, all with different premiums, copayments, benefits and deductibles.
