Tensions boil over on Senate floor amid coronavirus debate  Senate pushes deal over coronavirus bills to Wednesday. Though Majority Leader Mitch McConnell directed the Republican majority to pass the House coronavirus package despite its flaws, the Senate could not come to an agreement and will take up the bills on Wednesday, along with an amendment from Sen. Rand Paul, R. -Ky. The bill needed 60 votes to pass the upper chamber, and McConnell originally said the Senate would not take a recess until the bill was passed. "We're going to move here in warp speed for the Senate, which almost never does anything quickly," McConnell said Tuesday. "A number of my members think there were considerable shortcomings in the House bill. Some GOP lawmakers worried that the paid leave portion of the bill would hurt small businesses. The Senate remained in session all day with the measures without agreement after Paul objected to the measures. Paul’s amendment would require a Social Security number for those who may get aid and would end U.S. involvement in Afghanistan by the end of the year.

Tom Cotton Overrules Pelosi With Plan For To Get Relief To American Worker in “Days Not Weeks” | News Thud. Tom Cotton is a bold leader and we need bold leaders in a time of crisis. He and almost he alone has pushed back on China and how they have acted during the crisis they created. He is also standing up to Nancy Pelosi – look it is good to see Pelosi and Trump (via Mnuchin) got a deal done quickly, but thankfully we have guys like Tom Cotton to make sure the bill gets better.

Tom gently chided Pelosi” “Unfortunately, the bill’s central effort to help Americans is designed to achieve policy goals that have been overwhelmed by events,” before offering a much better version that would: “Cut out employers as the middlemen and get relief to people not in weeks but in days.” Tom wrote: “Over the weekend, the House of Representatives passed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.

It turns out that the administration and Speaker Pelosi were still ironing out significant differences even today. This key plank of the House bill is thinking too small. First, provide checks directly to workers. EXCLUSIVE: White House Officials Allege Speaker Pelosi Pushed To Include Hyde Amendment Loophole Into Coronavirus Stimulus Plan. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sought to include a potential way to guarantee federal funding for abortion into the coronavirus economic stimulus plan, according to multiple senior White House officials.

Speaking to the Daily Caller, those officials alleged that while negotiating the stimulus with U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, Pelosi tried to lobby for “several” provisions that stalled bipartisan commitment to the effort. One was a mandate for up to $1 billion to reimburse laboratory claims, which White House officials say would set a precedent of health spending without protections outlined in the Hyde Amendment. The House passed by unanimous consent a revised coronavirus emergency bill [filled with Democrat pork], the Washington Examiner reported.

The legislation, which originally passed on Saturday but was sent back to the floor over a technicality, passed a second time on Monday. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi worked out the “technical corrections bill” with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. Republicans were and still are very concerned about the effects on small businesses. So, now they have a deal. The bill now goes to the Senate and it could pass today. Rep. Gohmert withdrew his objections, allowing it to pass a second time. Andy Biggs and others explained the objections, which continue, on The Ingraham Angle last night: PowerInbox. House passes corrected coronavirus bill. House passes updated coronavirus bill. The House of Representatives on Monday passed a reworked coronavirus bill as the deadly disease continues to spread throughout the U.S.

The House approved the plan via unanimous consent. The House will now send the original coronavirus package plus a retooled version to the Senate. The Senate hopes to pass the legislation this week and send it to President Donald Trump. Trump signed an $8.3 billion funding bill Friday to help fight coronavirus. That bill gives more than $3 billion for the research and development of vaccines. There is also $800 million for research for treatments. The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus outbreak a global pandemic Wednesday. Schumer is blaming Trump and the Republicans for a delay in coronavirus bill that Pelosi caused | News Thud. Democrats are soooo self-assured that everyone would be a million times better if they were in charge, but I am not sure given that Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer can’t even coordinate with each other: Yeah!

How dare you delay you inhuman Republican monsters! Don’t you know all our toilet paper is infected with coronavirus????! Oh wait wait… Ohhhh well that’s kinda awkward. So either Schumer is a complete idiot (very possible) and doesn’t know that this delay is necessary because of Pelosi’s technical correction, OR he knows that he can blame Trump and the Republicans and the media will go along with it (also very possible). Either way. Share this: 40 Reps voted against the coronavirus stimulus for good reasons.

Earlier today, we posted what we knew about the pork-laden stimulus to address the coronavirus. It was passed by the House at 1 a.m. and there is no way everyone knew what was in the bill. The bigger concern is that some of these unnecessary welfare items could be permanent. Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), wouldn’t simply target the disease. She saw the disease as an opportunity to fill a wishlist. Forty Republicans voted against it and they are getting trashed for it. “I got a bill around about 9 o’clock or so, I was told it was the most recent draft. “This is no way to handle something so important,” Gohmert rightly insisted.

Rep. “On the heels of a massive $8.3 billion emergency spending package, Speaker Pelosi rushed a second short-sighted emergency bill, passed in the middle of the night and behind closed doors, that does more harm than good,” Banks said in a statement. It Massively Expands the Welfare State He also found so-called errors. The original bill was a socialist dream bill. Pelosi got a pork-filled socialist dream package. We still don’t have the written copy of the deal worked out between Secretary Mnuchin and Speaker Pelosi, but it has passed the House and is on its way to the Senate. Pelosi’s original deal included unending, permanent funds for abortion outside the Hyde Amendment. It was filled with socialist policies including a moratorium on immigration enforcement at the border when the opposite should take place. She wanted a release of prisoners under some prison reform she came up with and she pushed Universal Sick Leave.

There was even money for George Soros’ looney Center for American Progress. The bill that passed might be almost as bad. We need to see how much this will cost as well and how much is permanent. During the H1N1 ‘crisis,’ no one was panicked like this. Congress just voted on over eight billion dollars for the virus, released another 42.6 billion dollars under the national emergency declaration, and they are voting on another 50 billion dollars or so. Rep. Unemployment is beefed up. Republicans vote against House coronavirus bill: It ‘FOREVER changes entitlement programs’

The House of Representatives passed a sweeping coronavirus aid package at 1 a.m. Saturday that 40 Republicans voted against amid concerns that the Democrats are exploiting the virus to expand and permanently change welfare programs and to make abortion easier. Nevertheless, the “Families First Coronavirus Response Act” passed in the House by a vote of 363-40. The Senate will take up the bill next week. The coronavirus aid package calls for the following: Free coronavirus tests for all Americans, including the uninsured (a Trump proposal).Up to three months of paid family and medical leave.Mandatory two-week, paid sick leave for those who get COVID-19.Unemployment insurance for workers who get laid off due to the media-fomented hysteria that many leftists hope will trigger a recession.

Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz — who opposed the bill — explained why to Fox News host Martha MacCallum: “Everyone is for testing. Pelosi On Coronavirus Legislation Negotiations: "I'm Not Sticking Around Because [Repubs] Don't Want To Agree To Language" - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) during a press conference Thursday, told reporters that she “wasn’t sticking around” Capitol Hill because Republicans “don’t agree to language” on the “Families First Coronavirus Response Act“, a legislative package that was released by House Democrats Wednesday night.

Pelosi said at her weekly news conference that House Democrats plan to bring their coronavirus response package to the floor for a vote on Thursday. Speaker Pelosi told reporters that Democrats are “addressing” some Republican concerns in their coronavirus response legislation, saying the Trump administration’s suggestions have so far been “very reasonable.”

However, she became flustered when a reporter had asked about House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who suggested that the House stay in session instead of leaving for a week-long recess in order to further negotiate changes to the coronavirus legislation. “We don’t need 48 hours,” Pelosi stated. Speaker Pelosi’s official remarks: Pinhead Pelosi Releases Emergency Coronavirus Bill And Trump Smashes Her For Good Reason. By USAFEATURESMEDIA – President Donald Trump Wednesday evening criticized an emergency funding bill proposed by Democrats led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) because he said it is stuffed with measures that “have nothing to do with” the coronavirus outbreak. Asked by reporters if he would back the measure, the president responded, “No, because there are things that are in there that have nothing to do with what we are talking about.”

President Donald Trump said he did not support the proposed emergency funding bill by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi released on Wednesday night to fight the coronavirus.

When asked by reporters if he supported the bill, Trump replied, “No, because there are things that are in there that have nothing to do with what we are talking about.” Pelosi and House Democrats rushed to release a bill on Wednesday night at 11:00 p.m. that was about 124 pages long. The bill did not address issues that the president asked for, including a payroll tax cut. But Trump indicated that Democrats were using the crisis to push through partisan proposals. “It’s not a way for them to get some of the goodies that they haven’t been able to get for the past 25 years,” Trump said. Speaker Pelosi said Thursday during a press conference that it was imperative to get a bill passed as soon as possible to help American families suffering the economic disruption “I want to be here,” he said. “I want to be here,” he said. McConnell takes wind out of Pelosi’s sails after she defiantly declares, ‘I’m not sticking around’ DC.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi continued to politicize the coronavirus crisis with another theatrical performance at her weekly press conference. The California Democrat vowed that she was “not sticking around” to negotiate with Republicans on a bill to address the government response to COVID-19, which was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization on Wednesday. With a bill scheduled to come to the House floor on Thursday, Republicans have expressed concerns over the Families First Coronavirus Response Act unveiled by Democrats as it does not address some of the concerns noted by President Trump.

But Pelosi and other Democratic leaders have been pressing for the bill to pass despite their hold up of the recent vote on the funding bill to allegedly run ads against the GOP on Super Tuesday. Now with a recess looming for lawmakers, Pelosi declared she would not delay legislation and refused to wait another day to work with Republicans on a compromise bill. “Get your s*** together. She never seems to let a crisis go to waste. The world is battling a new virus. President Trump is fighting to ensure all Americans are safe. But what is Nancy Pelosi and her Democrats doing? Well, it sure looks like they are trying to take advantage of the situation. According to Trump, their “coronavirus” bill is loaded with junk totally unrelated to the problem, stuff they have wanted for 25 years.

It looks like she thinks this crisis is a blank check to push through her progressive agenda. But the president called her out on it. Congressman Buck Pulls Back Curtain On Pelosi – Accuses Her Of Slipping $1.25B In ‘Ornaments’ To Coronavirus Bill The coronavirus has many Americans concerned. But long before the Democrats said a peep, Trump was acting. Because of his actions, the virus’ spread in the country has been slow. He asked Congress for roughly $2.5 billion to battle the problem.

Of course, Nancy Pelosi wanted more. Hey, why miss out on an opportunity to punish the taxpayers, right Nance? The congresswoman got what she wanted, with a massive $8 billion spending bill. But not all of that money will go to help fight the virus in America.
