He attended Harvard University and received his M.A. from the University of Iowa in 1956. As a poet, editor, and translator, Bly has had a profound impact on the shape of American poetry. He is the author of more than thirty books of poetry, including Stealing Sugar from the Castle: Selected Poems (W. E. E. Cummings. Edward Estlin Cummings was born at home in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on October 14, 1894.
He began writing poems as early as 1904 and studied Latin and Greek at the Cambridge Latin High School. He received his BA in 1915 and his MA in 1916, both from Harvard.
