They’ve added up to a significant improvement in the ease and quality of my day-to-day life. But the major breakthroughs have come from a handful of insights that completely rocked my world and redefined reality forever. Namely: maybe people don’t have to work. Maybe, if machines become really good at producing the basic necessities of life, rather than bemoaning a loss of jobs we should celebrate our liberation from the toil of labor. As a practical matter, I recognize that this might be hopelessly utopian. It amounts to saying that we should have fairly high taxes, and redistribute most of the money as a minimal income to every person.

Nothing wrong with working and earning additional money, but everyone would get their personal share no matter what, and in principle that might be enough to live on. But nevertheless the spirit is admirable, and that’s what I want to endorse. By Susan Meindl Recent research by social psychologist Elaine Aron and her team describes a set of human characteristics which she calls “high sensitivity.” Her research suggests that approximately 15-20% of the human (and for that matter animals) have evolved to be markedly more responsive to their environment. It is not that these “highly sensitive people” (HSPs) are gifted with super-hearing or hyper-acute vision but rather, that they have nervous systems and minds which permit more stimulation to enter without automatically and unconsciously shutting it out, and further, that they then cognitively process the stimulation that they receive in more detail than others do.

All of my blogs are inspired by something. Something I read, a conversation I had, a video I watched, something someone did, or often said. It’s a Vesica Pisces, which I wrote about in this blog. Todays blog is a combination of several of these things. You see, i recently watched a video on Youtube of a Q&A with a man I have grand respect for, talking about the shift in consciousness that we’re experiencing on this planet. I don’t want to say who it is, for i’m not sure that’s important. What is important that what he said was basically that the shift is going to happen sometime in the next few years, and we pretty much just gotta wait for it, and if nothing happens, then all of the mayans and prophecies are wrong.
