Le Tour du Chocolat

http://travel.nytimes.com/2008/12/14/travel/14journeys.html?pagewanted=all The problem, of course, is squeezing in as many of these indulgent visits as possible while also giving the rest of the city its due. My solution: devote one full day to chocolate boutiques, and do it in style. So, on my last visit to , I took to the city’s Vélib’ system and mastered a two-wheeled circuit of eight of the chocolatiers that had the best reputations and most glowing reviews in city guidebooks and online message boards. It was exhilarating and exhausting, not to mention decadent. It was a chocoholic’s dream ride. The Vélib’s — industrial-looking road bikes that are already icons of Parisian-chic just a year and a half after the city initiated the program — made the moveable feast more fun.

This is pretty simple to explain. Get out fondant. Add food coloring of your choice and knead until the color is uniform throughout. I like using Wilton icing colors because the color turns out so rich. I have tried using the cheap liquid drop version with less luck. The color just isn't as vibrant in my opinion.

Fridge Depending on the starting temperature, cooling drinks in the fridge takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours. Not nearly fast enough when you're parched.

They are probably the best Oreo cakes I have ever tried. A lot of cake's that I have experimented with before are like a vanilla cake with bits of Oreo in them, which didn't really give them enough Oreo flavor. But these were a lot better. I used a dark chocolate fudge cake mix instead of just a regular chocolate cake mix, which went really well with the cookies and gave the cakes just a little more flavor.

The Pioneer Woman Cooks | Ree Drummond

I think you’ll love this colorful, pretty fruit salad, which is drizzled with a lovely orange-vanilla syrup, which glosses it up and makes it visually irresistible, which makes you want to stand over the bowl and slurp up every single bite, which won’t leave any for your brunch guests. So logic would probably tell you not not to make it. But I think you should go ahead and chance it! It’s that good. Slightly citrusy, nice and sweet, with a little hint of vanilla lusciousness.

Sweet Potato Black Bean Burritos | Branny Boils Over

My blog is getting to the age where there are an awful lot of wonderful recipes buried deep in the annals of sub par photography and rushed recipe write-ups. Because we eat with our eyes, it is hard to imagine why anyone would attempt to make this recipe after viewing the first photo here . But they have. And everyone who has tried this meal loves it every bit as much as I do. It is a shame how many times I’ve made this recipe since initially posting that recipe without taking another photograph.

Cranberry and Avocado Salad with Candied Spiced Almonds and Sweet White Balsamic Vinaigrette

Once you try this delicious salad you’ll find yourself craving it again and again. It’s bright, fresh and beyond versatile. By Chris Scheuer This salad is perfect for a quick lunch, a fancy brunch, a lovely side salad or a complete meal with chicken, shrimp or pork tenderloin piled on top.

Baked Zucchini Chips

Well I said last week that I'd probably be up to my old tricks by now. But much to my own surprise, I decided to try another 'healthy' recipe I've been thinking about - zucchini chips! If you ever look at the sidebar of my blog that lists 'popular recipes' you will see that Apple Chips are number one. They have been for a while now, but the funny part is that they are number one by a landslide.
