Michael Yellow Bird on the podcast! In this episode, we hear about the cycle of water; how Spirit embodies everything (and THAT is consciousness); that trauma has a consciousness; and that consciousness is shared: it goes beyond the individual. He shares about the clown who can show us that there is humor in death; he also says that indigenous peoples have safeguards to keep them well and healthy.

A lot of focus in the psychedelics space over the last few months has centered around the unethical behavior of select companies—David himself has weighed in. Our take is that it’s not only possible to create an ethical psychedelics company, but that such companies already exist. We want to move the discourse towards creating an ethical psychedelics industry as a whole. Live Free Laura D – Psychedelic Leadership. How MDMA and Psilocybin Became Hot Investments. Even some Republicans, a group that has traditionally opposed the liberalization of drug laws, are starting to come around.

How MDMA and Psilocybin Became Hot Investments

Last month, the former Texas governor Rick Perry, citing the high rates of suicide among war veterans, called on his state’s legislators to support a Democratic-sponsored bill that would establish a psilocybin study for patients with PTSD. “We’ve had 50 years of government propaganda around these substances, and thanks to the research and a grass-roots movement, that narrative is changing,” said Kevin Matthews, a psilocybin advocate who led Denver’s successful ballot measure. Long before Nancy Reagan warned the nation to just say no to drugs and President Richard Nixon supposedly pronounced Timothy Leary “the most dangerous man in America,” researchers like William A. Consciousness, Religion, and Gurus: Pitfalls of Psychedelic Medicine

Psychedelics are powerful therapeutic and scientific tools. It should therefore be no surprise that their use has been surrounded by epistemological and ethical challenges. This Viewpoint identifies and explores several of these potential pitfalls. I hope that this effort helps to shape future psychedelics research as well as the practice of psychedelic medicine should these compounds be approved for medical use.

A new study reveals that quantum physics can cause mutations in our DNA. Quantum biology is an emerging field of science, established in the 1920s, which looks at whether the subatomic world of quantum mechanics plays a role in living cells.

A new study reveals that quantum physics can cause mutations in our DNA

Quantum mechanics is an interdisciplinary field by nature, bringing together nuclear physicists, biochemists and molecular biologists. In a research paper published by the journal Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, a team from Surrey's Leverhulme Quantum Biology Doctoral Training Centre used state-of-the-art computer simulations and quantum mechanical methods to determine the role proton tunneling, a purely quantum phenomenon, plays in spontaneous mutations inside DNA. Proton tunneling involves the spontaneous disappearance of a proton from one location and the same proton's re-appearance nearby.

Although these mutations' lifetime is short, the team from Surrey has revealed that they can still survive the DNA replication mechanism inside cells and could potentially have health consequences. Dr. TransurfingInstitute.com – Reality Transurfing® courses.

New research suggests that electrophysiological brain signals associated with neural plasticity could help explain the rapid, antidepressant effects of the drug ketamine.

Ketamine may ease depression by restoring the brain's sensitivity to prediction error, study suggests

The findings, European Neuropsychopharmacology, indicate that ketamine could reverse insensitivity to prediction error in depression. In other words, the drug may help to alleviate depression by making it easier for patients to update their model of reality. “Ketamine is exciting because of its potential to both treat, and better understand depression. This is largely because ketamine doesn’t work the way ordinary antidepressants do – its primary mechanism isn’t to increase monoamines in the brain like serotonin, and so ketamine gives us new insight into other potential mechanisms underlying depression,” said lead researcher Rachael Sumner, a postdoctoral research fellow at The University of Auckland School of Pharmacy.
