Lumia Denim Update Is Now Available, Find Out List Of Phones To Receive It

Through an official post on Lumia Conversations, the Redmond tech giant has revealed that after testing and approving the new Lumia updates with its partners, all the handsets running on Windows Phone 8.1 will be upgraded to Lumia Denim whereas the non-carrier handsets will directly receive the update. Microsoft is releasing the Lumia Denim update in major markets like Asia Pacific, Africa, Europe Middle East, North America and Latin America. IBTimes claims that with the new announcement, Microsoft is aiming to provide the Lumia Denim update to all the Lumia devices by the end of first quarter of 2015. For selected countries like the U.S., the update is expected to arrive only after they are approved by the wireless carriers.

The OBox Is A Console’s Take On Android Gaming. At CES this year, Snail, a Chinese gaming company, demoed a new console it is working to release early this year called the OBox.

The OBox Is A Console’s Take On Android Gaming

The device is essentially a modular — their word — computer that runs Android games. I tinkered with the thing earlier today when it was attached to a large television, playing games in 3D. Snail declined to detail the price of the device, which was reasonable given that it will sell the device in various forms, and thus, presumably, price points. Building and selling the device in various hardware setups is interesting, given that consoles from Microsoft and Sony tend to leave little to the user in terms of potential customization.

SanDisk unveils first 128GB microSD card “designed for Android”

The company has unveiled the world’s first ever 128GB microSD card. More specifically, the card uses the microSDXC standard, meaning that it works with devices only that are compatible with XC, not just the lower-end HC. SanDisk does note, however, that the card is “designed for Android” and will be fully compatible with many Android devices. In addition to this new 128GB card, SanDisk will also be updating its “Memory Zone” app for Android, which allows users to easily and access files stored on microSD cards.

The app also allows users to back up content to it and free-up internal device memory. The availability of 128GB microSD cards also signals that we could soon start seeing Android devices with 128GB of internal storage. HIS R9 270 iPower IceQ X² Boost Clock Review & Rating. KnowRoaming's international sticker SIMs begin shipping to backers today. KnowRoaming, the company behind the roaming SIM "stickers" that popped up on Kickstarter last year, has begun shipping its device to the first 500 backers. The $35 pre-order kit, which includes a SIM sticker and a single-use applicator, enables international roaming at rates far lower than what you'd normally get with your carrier (unless, of course, you're using a Simple Choice plan with free global data from T-Mobile).

What makes KnowRoaming unique, however, is a design that integrates with your existing SIM. Once you attach the sticker to your carrier-issued card, your unlocked smartphone will detect when you've traveled abroad, switching your device over to a partner network. Current rates range from 13 cents per MB of data, 9 cents per minute of talk time and 16 cents per text in the UK, to a whopping $34.80 per MB, 27 cents per minute and $1.07 per SMS in Chad (though most countries offer tariffs at the cheaper end of the spectrum). Comments. Samsung's Galaxy S5 to sport fingerprint sensor, 32-bit SoC. By AppleInsider Staff As Samsung readies its Galaxy S5 to take on Apple's iPhone later this spring, one analyst believes the Korean company will be playing catch-up with an embedded fingerprint sensor and 32-bit processor.

Source: KGI Securities According to a research note obtained by AppleInsider, KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts Samsung needs a fingerprint verification system to keep up with the market's rush toward on-board biometrics spurred by the iPhone 5s. While Apple was certainly not the first to implement biometric security in a portable device, it sparked a trend by introducing a simple, effective and, most importantly, reliable solution with Touch ID.

By leveraging the popularity of the iPhone brand, Touch ID is now in the hands of millions of consumers, leaving other manufacturers scrambling to get out similar products. How To Get Apple’s Custom Font Celebrating 30 Years Of Mac. Apple left an easter egg (intentional or otherwise) in its new 30 years of Mac tribute website today: A custom font that depicts each Mac model from the past three decades of its history as a maker of personal computers. IOS developer and hacker Greg Barbosa discovered the icon set, and tweeted a link so that others could find and download it, too (via Seth Weintraub): The font uses special private characters so once installed, you won’t be able to just type to use it as you would a normal font, but you can copy and paste the different models from the OS X Font Book application and paste them into other applications.

Moment’s Mobile Camera Lenses Make The Smartphone The New Interchangeable Lens System. A few people have come up with add-on lens solutions for the iPhone and other smartphones, and now the Moment Kickstarter project wants to take that concept further with a bayonet-mounted lens system that focus on optical quality above all else. “We need Moment to capture better pictures with our phones. Despite their convenience, phones lack the creativity that high quality lenses can provide,” explained co-founder Marc Barros. “With Moment we put the finest of photography back in your product with beautiful lenses that capture the best images on the market.”

Barros acknowledges that there were many other options on the market already, but says that the founding team was frustrated by the “clunky design and poor image quality” of those existing solutions.
