Cross Bookmark – two patterns – Rainbow Junkie

They are only pictured for the Pattern 2 bookmark above but could be added to either one. You will find them below the original charts. I have now (October 2014) revised this page and included the US & UK versions on the same page. I have also added charts. The Pattern 2 bookmark is my preferred version as pictured above. I have not included the cord at the top in the charts as I am sure you can add a cord or tassel as you prefer. The bookmarks made with the #10 crochet cotton are 12cm (4.75 ins) tall and 9cm (3.5 ins) wide whereas the ones made with #20 cotton are 11cm (4.25 ins) tall and 7.5 cm (3 ins) wide not including the tag and tassel. If they come out larger you need to chose a smaller hook than the one I have suggested.

I designed this project for Simply Crochet magazine last year as a celebration for Valentines Day, and I've had it hanging in my studio ever since. It's a very simple little project but a joyful one - the idea for it came to me in a flash one morning and I hooked it up in a whizz of excitement - the simplicity of it pleased me very much!
