Photographing the Northern Lights - ExploreNorth

http://www.explorenorth.com/library/weekly/aa103098.htm When people who live in temperate climes think of the North, what images come to mind? Igloos, polar bears, reindeer, Santa Claus possibly - but almost always, somewhere on the short list will be the Northern Lights.
Welcome to the Northern San Diego Photography Collective. We are amateurs up thru professional photographers using film and digital cameras, who enjoy getting together to discuss photography, cameras, photo related topics, goings-on in the photography world & sharing our techniques and expertise, along with exploring and capturing our world with our cameras, as a group and individually. Join us on one of our group photography events or outings to interesting locations throughout San Diego County and at our monthly meetup gatherings which are listed on the group calendar.

Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT/350D Write Speed (Firmware Version 1.0.1) This page is no longer being updated The data in the table below was derived by timing how long it took the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT/350D to write out 12 Large Fine JPEG and 6 RAW .CR2 photos to the CompactFlash card. Timing commenced when the camera's card status light illuminated, and stopped when the light went out. Each test cycle was performed 3 times (if the card's capacity allowed for that) to ensure accurate results.

Museum of Photographic Arts

http://www.mopa.org/ Unusual Suspects invites viewers to explore new approaches and expression in photography through the innovative work of Holly Roberts. By combining painting and collage in her finished pieces our perception of the photographic medium is challenged. Roberts lets her imagination guide her as she takes original photographs and repurposes them to create illustrative stories with figures and animals, infusing the work with a rich narrative. A picture of gravel becomes the body of a dog and the branches of a tree become a human torso. In addition to this playful approach, the small scale of many of the pieces invites a closer look at the subtle details, allowing a personal connection with the images.
