Closures Closures are functions that refer to independent (free) variables. In other words, the function defined in the closure 'remembers' the environment in which it was created in. Consider the following: function init() { var name = "Mozilla"; function displayName() { alert (name); } displayName(); }init(); init() creates a local variable name and then a function called displayName(). displayName() is the inner function (a closure) — it is defined inside init(), and only available within the body of that function . Unlike init(), displayName() has no local variables of its own, and instead reuses the variable name declared in the parent function. Continuos Integration (CI) for JavaScript – Jasmine and Teamcity Web applications are using more JavaScript than ever before. Since most of the newer web applications include business logic embedded into the client using JavaScript, we must put assurances to make sure the quality of the application is not compromised over time. In most cases, the JavaScript side of the applications goes untested or is not automated which is a bad idea.
