Bring Those Boring Binders To Life With Livebinders I realized today that I have talked a lot about my various Livebinders but never really have taken the time to explain what they are or how they work. First, a video... Think of Livebinders as a virtual 3 ring binder that you can put pretty much anything in. Webpage, PDF, image, video, text, they all can go into a page organized for you. Mrs. Orman's Classroom: Use Popular Music to Teach Poetic Devices & Figurative Language To engage your students, you need to know what they like. What books do they like to read? What movies do they like to see? What do they do in their free time? What kind of music do they like? Having a questionnaire at the beginning of the school year is a great way to find out more about them. Chicago is wonderful. Therefore, biking in Chicago is pretty wonderful, right? Usually. But despite the miles of bike lanes, scenic streets and robust cycling community, any Chicago biking benefit becomes an afterthought once the first snowflake hits the ground.

Self-Esteem Ask students to define the term self-esteem. Write their ideas on a sheet of newsprint. Help students understand that self-esteem refers to how we understand and value ourselves. Five Free Web 2.0 Tools to Support Lesson Planning "Teachers need to integrate technology seamlessly into the curriculum instead of viewing it as an add-on, an afterthought or an event." -- Heidi Hayes Jacobs, Educational Consultant, Curriculum Designers, Inc. Web 2.0 tools are online software programs that allow users to do a number of different things. They can be used to teach curriculum content, store data, create or edit video, edit photos, collaborate and so much more. These programs are often free and are used by teachers, students and sometimes parents, both in and out of the classroom, on a pretty regular basis. The question then becomes: are educators prepared to use these tools? Are educators, especially new ones, ready to incorporate Web 2.0 tools into their classroom?

Things We're Supposed To Be Quiet About Apologists for rising inequality often argue that since most Americans’ income has risen despite rising inequality, there’s no reason to complain about inequality other than envy. So it’s worth remembering that we used to expect economic growth to deliver large increases in real income, not just a bit of a rise that’s accomplished in large part through longer working hours; and that a major reason so many have seen such small gains is that a large part of growth has been siphoned off to the very high end. Lane Kenworthy had a nice chart illustrating both points, comparing median family income with real GDP per family (for those worried about the fine points, it was nominal GDP divided by the CPI, avoiding some technical issues):

IMHO when your on the web and see something that you want to take a look at later or you think is something other people would find interesting or think they should know that information....you pearl it and it gets added to your pearl trees. And you can find out what other people put in their pearl trees . You can search for differant topics that have all been collaborated here on this site....And if you'd like you can comment on the topics and or to people whose topics in some way/whatever way interest you. There are other ways to look at it ...and things I havent discvered yet.Someone else will add I hope But welcome!Enjoy ! I know I sure have And please let me add: Thank you, to everybody for all the great pearls and knowledge and laughter, and videos ,and useful resourses, and theres just so many things that Im grateful about this site, I almost wish I could go back and rediscover it all over again..Thank you so much. You guys. by karlynknudson2 Oct 2

Which site ? Google or Pearltrees ? It seems we are on work "sky-localised", with a lot of diferents "clouds" ; pearls Google, pearls, You tube, pearls Pinterest, and I cant forget pearl Facebook and others (Tumblr...). :-)) The goals ? Hummm... About Pearltrees, I am no specialist and no involved on his development but is posible to show interests, to share them, to build teams and to contact and to exchange. Everybody need to construct their goals, I think...With pearltrees is posible to connect easy with differents "clouds". The specificity is French. It is posible to explore scientific universe about religions world for example. Only Pearltrees I think permit to consider notions of "laïcité" and on an other hand, in business, the notion of "droit moral" (no exist in anglo-saxon copyrights).. > > I am not sharholder of Pearltrees... :-))) by reel Oct 1
