http://www.worldstart.com/ Lock your iPad Screen Orientation Changes are imminent – problem is that sometimes the original method was preferable to the new “improved” one. Take the new iPad, for example. When you wanted to lock the screen’s orientation on pre-iOS 4.2 versions, all you had to do was flip a switch. Now, simply slide the program bar to the right, and on the resulting screen, press the lock button. Make sure you’re holding your iPad in the position you want to lock your screen in before you press.

http://techcrunch.com/gadgets/ Google’s augmented reality eyewear is coming to disrupt your face and your business model. If you don’t even have to pull your phone out to take a photo, get directions, or message with friends, why would you need to buy the latest iPhone or spend so much time on Facebook? It could be a year before Google eyewear reaches stores, but that’s why these and other tech companies need to strategize now. If they wait to see if the device is a hit, the world could be seeing through Google-tinted glasses by the time they adapt. Apple and Facebook’s best bet might be to team up…

http://www.engadget.com/ If you're a little too impatient to wait for the Absinthe jailbreak tool to make its way to Windows, good news, there's another option. The iPhone Dev Team has released Corona, a command line-based option for Mac and Windows 7 that will deliver Cydia to your iOS 5.0 or 5.0.1-running iPhone 4S or iPad 2. Obviously, you'll want to be comfortable with the terminal and command prompt but, if you can handle a little CTRL+c and CTRL+v action, jailbreaking your brand new iOS device shouldn't prove too difficult. Hit up the source link for complete instructions on how to free your shiny A5 portable from Apple's shackles while still using your Microsoft machine.

A Texas-based Linux admin was charged with hacking into the websites of at least 4 police groups after FBI agents engaged him in an online manhunt that mined photo metadata, Facebook profiles, and other digital evidence. He says he's surrendered all accounts in his control, but his status as a cooperating witness is anything but clear.
http://www.ubergizmo.com/ Windows Phone owners who happen to live in Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Croatia, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, and Venezuela, here is some good news for you, and hopefully it will be able to perk you up through the middle of the week as the weekend looms in the horizon. Microsoft has announced that they will be opening up the Marketplace in those countries, so may the downloading begin! This would mean the aforementioned 13 countries will be joining Argentina, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Peru, and the Philippines for some Marketplace goodness, bringing the total number of Marketplace storefronts to 54. Of course, Microsoft is definitely not going to stop here, as they have plans outlined for the UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Israel, Thailand, and Vietnam in the near future. This would definitely mean the 70,000 plus apps available on the Marketplace will not stay that way for long with the opening up of new markets.

Isn’t it delightful how geek culture works? Hit up Google 's homepage today, and you'll find the company's latest commemorative doodle, this time a celebration of the 126th birthday of Modernist architect Mies van der Rohe. Born in 1886 and dying 83 years later in 1969, Mies - along with Le Corbusier and others - is considered one of the fathers of modern architecture, focusing on broad expanses of glass and narrow, discrete metal work, as well as coining some of the much-used phrases of today.
