With contemporary graphics layered under the patina of paint, these pieces almost feel like we are peeling back the scales from the antiquated to find that what is hidden beneath is not obsolete, but avant-garde. Heather’s work can be found in private and corporate collections in Canada, The United States, Germany, New Zealand and England. A selection of her paintings is now a part of the permanent art collection at the Canadian Embassy in Ankara, Turkey. I stuff the prescription in my pocket and go into Claudia’s apartment. Her head doesn’t move when the door clicks shut.Fubiz™
Wow those are good ! Thanks nixnet ! by Mar 18
And yes pearltreees is a mind map of sorts . Therefore visual thinking rather then Data Visualization . Though it has aspects that are data visualization. Like the connecting spokes tell how much traffic has flowed by their width . The colored circles around the pearls and pearltrees also correspond to the number of comments , or how many times the pearl has been picked . That is more raw data representation which falls into the Data visualization term . by Jan 1
Visual thinking / Data Visualization , it could be said that they are heads and tails of the same coin ;-) Data Visualization is more raw data set into a garaphic form . The simplest would be a pie chart or graph . Visual Thinking is usualy more fluid like mind mapping or a flow chart . But the lines are blurred as they get intertwined into more complex forms . by Jan 1
You may be right @Mirlen101, that must be how all the magic has happened on the net after all. Of course it took a great deal of mind work, many years, and brilliant people to pull it all together into a sort of unit cohension. It's definitely the key possibility, because popularity makes things happen in a huge way today. by Jul 11
I think one reason for your popularity is that your pearls are targeted mostly towards what is popular . Even your user name is a catchphrase ;-) It would be interesting to purposely start a Pearltree account based solely on what is proven to be popular ;-) To see what kind of flow could be generated ;-) by Jul 11
Thanks for the info .I wonder if others have found that connecting to Twitter or Facebook increased their flow substantially ? Adding pearltrees with an existing popularity/flow is an easy way to gain traffic . And I'm sure connecting to popular sites does the same . But usually there is a more specific reason for sudden increased flow .One is someone sending out invites in mass . Or one hot topic . My most popular seem to be "Data Visualization/ thinking visually"," Consciousness" and "Synthetic Biology " ;-/ pretty strange subjects to be so popular ! by Jul 11
Any more info on how you think this happened would be appreciated ;-) Any bot spamming involved ? by Jul 8
