I received many questions about it, so I decided to follow it up with more mistakes and more information to answer many of the questions I have received. Cooking Too Short It takes time for the minerals and nutrients to be drawn out of the bones. If you stop before this happens, you won’t be getting everything you need and waste nutrients by throwing them into the garbage instead of drawing them into the stock. Cook stock a minimum of 8 hours, but go for 24-36 hours for chicken and 24-48 hours for beef if at all possible.

Cooking Too Long. Re-Growing Celery. Did you know that you can grow another complete celery stalk from the bottom piece that you cut off and throw away?

Re-Growing Celery

This is new to me, too, but I have been doing it this year and it works! I use a lot of celery when cooking and I hope to save quite a bit by re-growing it throughout the spring and summer. When I bring the celery home, I cut the end off first then put the rest into the refrigerator. I usually set the bottom piece on a saucer of warm water overnight to get it started. Also, because I am usually busy cooking and working in the kitchen when I do this and don’t have time to plant it right away, I think this gives it a head start. When I have time, I will take that piece and plant it just like it is, in the vegetable garden with the stalk side up.

This is one planted about three days ago. This one was planted about 10 days ago. It will grow a brand new top to be cut and used. I may never need to buy celery again! Tigernuts. ChocoPerfection Raspberry Chocolate Bar. Tamarind. Soursop. Soursop is the fruit of Annona muricata, a broadleaf, flowering, evergreen tree native to Mexico, Cuba, Central America, the Caribbean, and northern South America, primarily Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, and Venezuela.

Soursop

Soursop is also produced in some parts of Africa, Southeast Asia and the Pacific. It is in the same genus as the chirimoya and the same family as the pawpaw. The soursop is adapted to areas of high humidity and relatively warm winters; temperatures below 5 °C (41 °F) will cause damage to leaves and small branches, and temperatures below 3 °C (37 °F) can be fatal. The fruit becomes dry and is no longer good for concentrate. The flavour has been described as a combination of strawberry and pineapple, with sour citrus flavour notes contrasting with an underlying creamy flavour reminiscent of coconut or banana. Soursop is widely promoted (sometimes as "graviola") as an alternative cancer treatment. Cultivation[edit] Uses[edit] Properties[edit] Health[edit] Neurotoxicity[edit]
