By completing this transaction, I agree to the following terms and conditions: I understand that my contribution is to JustGive.org, a 501(c)3 organization that processes donations and disburses funds to charities based on donor recommendations. I understand that, like any tax-deductible charitable contribution, my donation cannot be cancelled or returned once it has been completed. I understand that JustGive will conduct due diligence to make sure that the charity I have selected meets public accountability standards. If the charity I have selected no longer accepts donations, is no longer recognized by the IRS as a public charity, or is no longer in good standing with federal regulators, JustGive will contact me to request an alternate charity. If I do not respond within 30 days, JustGive will select another charity that meets high public standards and whose mission is similar to the organization that I originally selected.

$414,038.98 raised THE RELIEF FUND The Northern Japan Earthquake Relief Fund was established by the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California (JCCCNC) to help the victims of the Great Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami which took place on March 11, 2011. Our relief campaign is a community based and volunteer driven effort. 100% of the donations received are going directly to citizen relief efforts that are actively on the ground providing support to the victims through the National YMCAs of Japan and other Non-Governmental Organizations that the JCCCNC has very long relationships with since the 1995 Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake centered in Kobe. The funds will focus on supporting the victims and those who need it most but are often forgotten, the elderly, children, the physically and mentally challenged and the migrant communities.

DonorsChoose

Here's how it works: public school teachers from every corner of America post classroom project requests on DonorsChoose.org. Requests range from pencils for a poetry writing unit, to violins for a school recital, to microscope slides for a biology class. Then, you can browse project requests and give any amount to the one that inspires you. Once a project reaches its funding goal, we deliver the materials to the school. You'll get photos of your project taking place, a thank-you letter from the teacher, and a cost report showing how each dollar was spent. If you give over $50, you'll also receive hand-written thank-you letters from the students.
