Study Shows that the Human Factor Plays Big Role in Data Breaches :: Security & Resiliency. In a society where knowledge is power, data breaches are an absolute disaster. But despite security programs, passwords, encryption, and urgings of secrecy from higher-ups, much of the data that companies harbor still manages to find itself into the wrong hands. While there are uncontrollable factors such as a tiny breach in security systems, a virus here and there, or an expert hacker that comes and goes like the Spirit of Death, there is another more common factor that is responsible for these kinds of information and security breaches--employees.

A recent study from Trend Micro, conducted by the Ponemon Institute, has shown that glitches, errors, and hackers are only partly to blame for unwanted information breaches and data loss to third parties. According to SecurityWeek, the report has concluded that the majority of data security breaches are caused mainly by carelessness on the part of the employees who need to work with and have access to "top secret" company data. ¿Cuál es el medio más usado para buscar trabajo? This article titled “The death of Web 2.0 is nigh…” was written by John Naughton, for The Observer on Saturday 6th August 2011 23.06 UTC Perhaps it was the spurious precision of the headline that caught my eye. “Web 2.0 will end on October 1 2012″, it said. The idea of a meme – an infectious idea – having a definite termination point was peculiar enough; but a meme as nebulous as Web 2.0?

Of course the phrase had become ubiquitous in PR-speak over the past few years. It seemed that the press release for every self-respecting online product or service had to have it somewhere in the text. But to ask the authors of these documents to explain what they meant by Web 2.0 was to risk accusations of mental cruelty, for they generally knew not whereof they spoke. (In that respect, it was like asking News International executives about “ethics”.) The prediction of Web 2.0′s demise was made by Christopher Mims, a technology commentator who writes for the MIT journal Technology Review. Sitios para diversión y entretenimiento en Internet. You’d think a person who manages a career advice website and wrote a guide to personal branding would have her own website.

I know it—I just couldn’t bring myself to do something about it. Every time I consider doing something with my lindsayhicks.com domain, I come up with an endless list of alternatives: updating my LinkedIn profile, researching new social media outlets, tweeting for WetFeet, catching up on the news, doing a little work, cleaning a dish, riding my bike, scanning Facebook, and it goes on. It’s just always been something I want to happen without any effort. I want a simple, effective, personal website to just… appear. Then while interviewing candidates in the spring, I noticed that everyone seems to leave college with a well-designed personal website. Last night, I decided to start making it happen—and share with you these simple steps to making a personal website.

Knowledge@wharton: Web 3.0 and how it disrupts the internet. 5 Ways Crowdsourcing Can Help You Make Some Money. Bullying in the Internet age. The "Internet of Places" Summary: Today's geo-enabled Web relies on a host of technologies and processes, notably mashups. But according to authors Giuseppe Conti, Raffaele De Amicis, Federico Prandi (all from Graphitech) and Paul Watson (from 1Spatial), those are just a stepping stone to future technologies and processes that will enable a spatio-temporal Internet of Places using the growing mass of unstructured data resources on the Web A significant proportion of the content available on the Internet has a spatial dimension. This may be either explicit or implicit, for instance a place name within a document or the location of a place referred to within a tweet. However, if we take a look from a geospatial standpoint at the various types of Internet resources and applications used today, we see a fairly fragmented picture.

The original concept of the “web of documents” has been complemented, in recent years, by various Web 2.0 or “mashup” technologies. The difference between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 | Knowledge Sharing. In explaining the use of Web 1.0 tools, Pegrum (2009) explained that: Web 1.0 refers to the initial information-oriented web, authored by a small number of people for a very large number of users. Consisting mainly of static webpages, it offered a little room for interactivity. Educational users largely fell into two catergories: information retrieval (as in webquests) or rote training (drill exercises). While there were some clear benefits in terms of student autonomy, use of authentic materials and exposure to multiliteracies, and while problem-based learning and guided discovery approaches to Web 1.0 were not unknown, it was most often used in ways corresponding to traditional transmission or behaviourist models of pedagogy (cited in Harrison & Thomas, 2009). Nowadays, there is a demand to enlarge research on learning acquisition through Web 2.0 tools.

(pp. 131-136). Another concern regarding the wide usage of social networking among learners is the information security. Like this: Businesses should prepare for Web 3.0, says Booz&Co.
