Doodle Rebellion! Last year, I had featured Lei Melendres‘ “Crazy Comix Doodles,” and since then he has worked on new sketchbook drawings. His illustrations generally include wacky characters crammed together on a page or two, and many of them, are actually quite mouthy! Artwork © Lei Melendres. Everyone of us has his own little secrets and ‘Confessions’, a public art project by american artist Candy Chang, invites people to anonymously share their confessions and see the confessions of people around them in the heart of the Las Vegas strip.

Chang lived in Las Vegas for a month and turned her P3 Studio gallery into a contemplative place for people to share their confessions and being fascinated by the secrets others hide inside themselves. Inspired by Post Secret, Shinto shrine prayer walls, and Catholicism, people could write and submit their confessions on wooden plaques in the privacy of confession booths. By the end of the exhibition, over 1500 confessions were displayed on the walls.

It’s about sex, love, or fears of dying alone. All images © Candy Chang | Via: My Modern Met. Enjoy! Artist Takes Every Drug Known to Man, Draws Self Portraits After Each Use. This is all kinds of cool, and everything your mother told you not to do. Bryan Lewis Saunders is an artist from Washington D.C., not just any artist though. Saunders prefers to take a more unconventional approach to his artwork. Arguably his most interesting project, entitled DRUGS is described as follows: Below, you can view a collection of portraits Saunders drew while under the influence of various substances ranging from cocaine, to marijuana, to DMT.

Each portrait is an astonishing look into the mind of someone tweaked out on drugs, something that your eyes will surely appreciate. Carne Griffiths’ artwork is born from a love of drawing and the journey of creating an image on the page. Working primarily with calligraphy ink, graphite and liquids, such as tea brandy, vodka and whisky he draws and then manipulates the drawn line. After graduating from Maidstone college of art Carne served an apprenticeship and worked as a gold wire embroidery designer for 12 years, hence floral pattern, repetition and flow play a large part in his work.

Carne’s images explore both human and floral forms, figuratively and in an abstract sense. He is fascinated by the flow of line and the ‘invisible lines’ that connect us to the natural world. Thes Portraits in this series show human character often through the use of poise and plant symbolism, all are painted in ink and tea, apart from the vine which is painted in a combination of alcohol and tea.
