UncannyXmen.Net

http://www.uncannyxmen.net/ The Character Profile section is one of the newest features at the UXM.net. Nevertheless, in less than two years after we launched the section, we are already approaching the 50th profile entry. To celebrate this upcoming milestone, we decided to run another "Unusual Suspects" contest, just like the one we did in August 2010 with the first set of profiles to be released. The contest is closed now, but a winner has yet to be announced. The conflict between the X-Men and Earth's Mightiest Heroes over the fate of Hope Summers is here!

Free Online Comic Books

http://www.lorencollins.net/freecomic/ Two of the greatest obstacles that comics have in reaching readers are exposure and cost. Fortunately, the internet has provided remedies for both. Many comic book creators and publishers have put their comics online, available as full issues and at absolutely no cost to the reader. And unlike torrents or scanned files, these comics are completely legal. Here I have endeavored to collect as many of these as possible, now totalling over 300 full issues and stories, in one place.
Kung Fu Bean is a web comic following the journey of a smart-mouthed and adventure chasing bean. KFB finds himself fighting alongside the most unlikely of allies, Tank and X5. Their journey will take them to fantastical places in this no-stop, ongoing saga. While it is easy to underestimate the small statured fun-loving bean, those that cross him will learn the error of their ways after a few smart remarks and well placed jump kicks. RiverSide is a comic strip centering around the life of a girl named Lily.

Comic Book DB

New to the site? ComicBookDB.com is the fastest-growing comic database on the web. The first goal of this project is to catalog every comic, graphic novel, manga, creator, character and anything else that could relate to the field of comics. But that is only the beginning. http://www.comicbookdb.com/
Archaia Entertainment did something a little different for FCBD, rather than a comic, they released a hardback, bound compendium of some short stories serving as teasers or lures for their titles. There's a charming "Labyrinth" short story about Hoggle and the Worm (Remember him?), an equally charming "Mouse Guard" tale. A visually interesting, but rather confusing "Dapper Men" story, an altogether odd "Cursed Pirate Girl" story, and a weird little tale called "Rust" teasing a longer story about a young boy trying to keep his family's farm together when his father is lost in a devastating world war, and another young kid, Jetpack Jones who crashes into the barn one day and stays to help out.

Dark Horse Comics

Detective Comics is a title that has seen some incredible highs in the last few years. Between Greg Rucka and Scott Snyder it was a book that deserved to be the headliner for the company. As one of the New 52, is it still as good? The answer to that is more complicated than I expected. The things I like about it are pretty good but the things that I don't like are really, really bad. OK, so a couple of unkind reviews from me of late.
