Unmanned aerial system - Precisielandbouw. Rubriek: Remote sensing Naam: CropCam Het doel van unmanned aerial systems (UAS) zoals de CropCam is om informatie te verzamelen van gewassen. In figuur 1 is een foto te zien van de CropCam wanneer hij wordt gelanceerd. De UAS kunnen informatie verzamelen wanneer dit met satellieten bijvoorbeeld niet mogelijk is. Door onder de bewolking door te vliegen kan informatie verzameld worden wanneer dit gewenst is. UAS zijn daardoor een goede aanvulling op de gegevens van satellieten.
Satellieten geven stelselmatig gegevens maar de gaten die in de gegevens vallen door bewolking of andere atmosferische oorzaken kunnen worden opgevangen door UAS. Met UAS kan informatie worden vergaard wanneer deze nodig is. De CropCam is een radiografisch bestuurbaar vliegtuigje uitgerust met Trimble GPS systeem. De CropCam wordt handmatig gelanceerd waarna het zelfstandig vliegt en landt. Omhoog De CropCam is tot op heden niet beschikbaar in Nederland. Terug naar Remote sensing.
