A quick and easy way to transfer some print material to your art journaling pages, that I came across mostly by accident and have since used on many an art journaling page!

Birgit's Daily Bytes: Print Transfer Technique

You will need: Art journaling page Mod Podge old book pages or sheet music bone folder or popsicle stick (or you can use the back of your nail if you like) I generally use this method when I’ve already layered on several paints, inks, stamps and splatters, so the transfer print sits on top of the page. 1.) Tear your piece of printed paper to about the size you would like the print to appear on your page. 2.) 3.) You just need to go over it a few times. 4.) Keep on pulling as much or as little as you like. I quite like it when some of the paper remains, especially since the print that transfers onto the page is of course mirror imaged, but the print you don’t pull off isn’t, so it makes for interesting texture and visual interest! Living and Learning at Home: Paper Hats and Cute Corner Bookmarks

I enjoy making things myself, but for some reason it's not my thing to do it with my kids. None the less, we embarked on a very hands-on day! We did a science experiment with blueberry ice cubes, we 'finger' painted using q-tips, and we did some simple origami. For the origami, we first made a paper hat, using the instructions found here.

It's a good starting origami for kids. Next, we made a corner bookmark that I had come across on pinterist the other day. I loved the idea of this, so I brainstormed what I could make other than monsters that would still be super cute. ***UPDATE! This would be a great activity for even young children if you had the eyes, ears, etc. cut out first and all they would have to do is glue them on. Happy Crafting! SNOWFLAKE BALLERINAS for Crafty Moms

The idea belongs to Natalia. Interior designer Tanya Ahmed (www.dadu.bg) was preparing the ballerinas for her daughter’s bedroom. They are a bit difficult for little hands but crafty moms would certainly manage. You will need white printer paper (and maybe some cardboard paper for the body to keep it flat). Fold the paper square as shown to cut out the snowflake skirt. Here are the snowflake skirt templates. And here are the templates for the ballerinas. She wears flowers. Someday Crafts.
