Initial iPad Setup
Look to the navigation sidebar to the left for the categories. Remember that I teach Year 3/4 at Appleby so I like apps that particularly appeal to that age group but will work with other age groups as well, especially the creative apps. The costs of the apps are in kiwi dollars at the time of writing.

When we started investigating the use of iPads in schools here at Catholic Education Parramatta there was little in the way of journal articles published about their use in learning and teaching. We utilised what range of resources we could find on blogs and websites and via networks.

Consider using edutainment apps like My PlayHome, Lil' Kitten Shopping Cart, and Kidz Kitchen to teach real-world math (using iPen app to record) Not necessarily a traditional iPad Lesson but elem. students could open these story starter PDFs on their iPad, write their story using an app like PaperPort Notes, and then act it out using Puppet Pals. Faux technology.

To this day I remain a big fan of the overhead projector. I truly believe it was more effective a tool for teaching than the projected Powerpoint slides will ever be.
