This Victorian influence is also seen in steampunk jewelry. Steampunk art can also be found in films; they feature various types of steampunk machines that were assembled using the Industrial Revolution as one of their inspirations. One of the more interesting displays of steampunk art can be seen in watches and clocks.

Calaveras Day of the Dead Bicycle Playing Cards. The official Dia de los Muertos celebration doesn’t kick off until November, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start getting excited for the artwork this holiday brings about with this Day of the Dead deck of cards.

Calaveras Day of the Dead Bicycle Playing Cards

Calaveras was created by Chris Ovdiyenko, and is an entire deck of playing cards inspired by the Day of the Dead artwork from the turn of the century. Chris has used the Bicycle logo from 1895 in an attempt to make the cards feel like they were something that would have existed during the Mexican Revolution of the early 1900s. Each suit will represent a different class of society including the banditos, clergy, military and the common people. Individuals who help support the project on Kickstarter will also be treated with beautifully crafted, woodcut prints for display purposes. [Via] Grapeheart Studio - WELCOME TO A WORLD OF SKULLS.
