Stasis is an up-and-coming horror adventure game by 3d artist Chris Bischoff. The story revolves around John Maracheck, who’s woken up in an abandoned research facility, wondering where his family has gone. A classic point-and-click adventure game at its core, Stasis is notable for its use of beautiful isometric graphics to immerse players in the haunting atmosphere of the facility. Hit the jump phubans for two cinematic teasers as well as one gameplay trailer. You can also follow Stasis’s progress on the TIGForums devlog , where Chris shares many aspects of the game’s creation. There is currently no release date set.

Indiegames.com - showcasing the best in independent games.

http://indiegames.com/ [Written by Eric Caoili on Gamasutra .] Movie tie-in games tend to have a poor reputation with gamers, as they've been discouraged by past purchases promising an interactive version of their favorite films but delivering slipshod experiences lacking the excitement of the source material. Indie developer Adam "Atomic" Saltsman, best known for creating one-button mobile/online hit Canabalt , hopes to avoid the pitfalls other movie-based titles have fallen into with his iOS game for Suzanne Collins' young adult novel series The Hunger Games and Lionsgate's upcoming film adaptation . Like Funtactix's social game based on the same popular franchise , Saltsman's The Hunger Games: Girl on Fire will launch alongside the movie next week, and is part of a strategy by Lionsgate to release Hunger Games tie-ins on emerging platforms like Facebook and iOS instead of on traditional consoles.

http://www.adigitaldreamer.com/game-development/ We had heard a lot of great things about LittleBigPlanet for the Playstation 3 months before it was released. We heard things like the way the characters were designed and showed emotions brought instant smiles on the faces of pretty much anyone who had a chance to play it. We had heard about great looking levels, multiplayer interaction, and creation aspects of the game.

Games from Within | So You Want to Be a Game Programmer?

http://gamesfromwithin.com/so-you-want-to-be-a-game-programmer I often get email from people looking to get their first job in the game industry asking me for advice. What are companies looking for in candidates for entry-level programming positions? How come it’s so difficult to land a job? I can’t answer for the industry as a whole, but I can certainly tell you what I am looking for when trying to fill an entry-level programmer position. A few weeks ago, Joel wrote an article with advice for college students looking to become programmers. It was good, solid advice overall, but it was a bit too general, and it didn’t apply very well to the games industry.
http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/26577/Opinion_Indie_Game_Design_Dos_and_Donts_A_Manifesto.php [Veteran indie game creator Edmund McMillen , known for his work on 2005 IGF Grand Prize winner Gish, Time Fcuk, and Super Meat Boy for WiiWare, shares his opinions and manifesto on making indie games, with 24 clear do-s and don't-s to make your art thrive.] One of the most common questions I'm asked in interviews is, "Do you have any advice for independent game developers who are new to the scene, or tips for developers in general?" Well, I actually answered it this time: I came up with this list of indie do-s and don't-s.

Welcome to this website! This started out as a temporary location for my tutorials and projects, which has become quite popular, and as a result, fairly permanent. As long as Wikidot keeps cooperating with me, I'm planning on staying here. This site is designed as a place to help you get going with game development (or just software development in general) and provides you with tons of free amazing tutorials, software, and resources for you to use. http://rbwhitaker.wikidot.com/start

RB Whitaker's Wiki: Welcome

Updated the website. Comments welcome in the forum. Also added profile pages with a buddy system and a blog. I am not sure I like the blog. I may make a different blog that is far better.
