Architecture On the river side, in a winding landscape, a bridge stretched between two cliffs, a threshold, a bridge spanning a precipice … We wished to honour the riverside landscape which saw the birth of the first inhabitants of Korea, and acknowledge the beauty of the two hill curves echoing the river meanders. How to enhance such a pre-existent form and its geological underground chasm ?
- by digging the chasm to let the Earth tell its history - by alleviating the visual hold of the project in order to let the chasm express itself ; - for this purpose, the building will be enchased into the hill which has been hollowed out and the stockrooms wil be located underground ; - by curving the central part of the building so as to unveil the geological crack (and also the sun, from the edge of the crack) ; - by clothing it in a « shimmering skin » which will reflect the precipice from underneath. PARTICULARIDAD JAPI: MOSAICO | JAPI Estudio de Arquitectura en Guadalajara. Cuando nos planteamos la idea de usar el Mosaico en nuestras obras como parte del sello JAPI, decidimos, por supuesto, crear un diseño propio que pudiese tener un molde con infinidad de variaciones a la hora de utilizarse. Así fue como surgió la “Palomita”, el mosaico con forma de ave lineal que usamos en el piso de nuestro despacho y que ya se ha hecho distintivo en nuestra arquitectura desde que comenzamos a usarlo en el 2007. Varias obras de nuestra autoría cuentan con este sello, desde construcciones hasta remodelaciones, pero es si duda el que tenemos en nuestro propio estudio el que muestra el auténtico sello de la casa: el Mosaico JAPI. Para la elaboración de esta pieza especial trabajamos de la mano de nuestros amigos de Studio Victoria (a quienes recientemente les hicieron un reportaje especial en Cool Hunter), para crear un modelo único y multifuncional como lo es el Palomita.
