This is summer (for one part of the world at least) and we thought it’s the perfect timing to put online a new theme-based showcase. Below you can find 40 really impressive sand sculptures. The amount of details in these works are outstanding and the size of some sculptures is remarkable. You’ll have to train a lot if you want to do the same!
The planets in the heavens move in exquisite orbital patterns, dancing to the Music of the Cosmos. There is more mathematical and geometric harmony than we realize. The idea for this article is from a book Larry Pesavento shared with me. The book, ' A Little Book of Coincidence ' by John Martineau, illustrates the orbital patterns and several of their geometrical relationships. . Take the orbits of any two planets and draw a line between the two planet positions every few days. Because the inner planet orbits faster than the outer planet, interesting patterns evolve.

Well, it’s a writer’s dream come true; a typewriter that turns any word into a cocktail. Yes, this invention comes to you from the strange and wonderful mind of morskoiboy , who I can only hope is working on a laptop that turns your hate mail into pretzels.
What do you get when a carmaker like Toyota decides to combine the performance knowledge of its racing division with the refinement and exclusivity of its luxury brand? The Lexus LFA: a nearly $400,000 supercar with power and technology oozing from its many gills. Elements of the chassis are so advanced that Lexus had to develop a 3D carbon fiber loom to render them.
The epic story of LOST has come to a close. For the past year, this ending was heavy on my mind, as well as the millions of other avid LOST fans around the world. And for all others, our obsession for this show seemed almost comical that we would invest such energy at attempting to dissect each weeks story line. Through polar bears, time-travel, others, other others, and bright yellow lights, the show filtered out only the truest of fans.

I know what you are thinking. It is devilishly hard to decide whether you should get a new yacht, or just get another super car. Right? A yacht is relaxing, but the car is fun.
In the age of internet, television, and Lady Gaga, it’s easy to ignore the dazzling displays the sky gives us every night. In ancient times, however, human civilizations based their entire calendar, and thus their way of life, upon what they saw in the cosmos. While humanity’s interest in astronomy has diminished over the centuries, the sky remains nonetheless spectacular.
This optical illusion (now at version 3) has been featured on the new page along with 6 other brand new illusions exclusive to Skytopia. Originally, the illusion came from the rotating spiral illusion in the 19th century. But I've spruced it up by using a different line technique, added multiple type squashes, and also made it smoother, faster and more effective than comparable ones seen on the web elsewhere.
