Washington-based painter Tyree Callahan modified a 1937 Underwood Standard typewriter, replacing the letters and keys with color pads and hued labels to create a functional “painting” device called the Chromatic Typewriter. Callahan submitted the beautiful typewriter as part of the 2012 West Prize competition, an annual art prize that’s determined by popular vote.

Forget using a calendar. This photograph of all the historic Batmobiles lined up not only stirs up nostalgic feelings, it gives us a sense of how much time has passed by. The first Batman story was produced in 1939. Ever since then, the Batmobile has been an integral part of Batman's arsenal of weapons. It's hard to think of any vehicle that has been more fantasized about by children from multiple generations.

October 18th, 2011. You may have seen these these floating around with supposedly promoting The Smithsonian Museum. They are in fact a series of self promotional work from the team at An Erratic Perspective . The Smithsonian Museum reference was initially put to may the posters more authentic, but removed after the posters viral popularity on the internet, to avoid confusion. In any event, the series deserves a mentioned.
