I've been asked to deliver a training session on the use of Twitter in event marketing, so thought I'd share here some of my thoughts thus far. Make sure the event Twitter account is included in all event literature Schmooze sponsors and speakers by commenting on stories relating to them (mentioning that they are speaking/sponsoring the event of course) Use lists to segment the Twitter accounts of speakers, sponsors and delegates Comment on topics that are discussed at the event Respond to delegate queries Define the hashtag. You can search to see if it’s being used elsewhere at http://hashtags.org/ Send delegates a pack on how they can use social media at the event Run a live blog at the event so that delegates don't need to take notes Mention the hashtag in event literature Mention that there will be a tweet-up at a particular time/place (maybe in the bar after the event?)

Twitter has been pearled 52 more times then facebook, perhaps that is just because people don't feel they need to pearl facebook, just an interesting point I wanted to make. by Jan 20
I find it interesting that Twitter has more connections then facebook. considering facebook trumps twitter in users, perhaps to the geeks of the world (I include myself in this) twitter is a more important tool. Just a speculation. by Jan 20
Modernity and history intermingle harmoniously in energetic Cairo. This is a city to delight culture-vultures, budding historians, and shopaholics alike. Get lost in the hubbub of Khan al-Khalili, a site where Cairenes have traded since the 14th century.
Where are you now

Ah, I had a feeling you were connected to pearltrees. I really am loving it, by the way. Very unique service in all aspects. Design, Functionality, Convinience. Big thumbs up. I am a designer / photographer for a private school in Pattaya, Thailand. Send me an email - angelidarling@gmail.com or angelidarling@googlewave.com by gdyk Jan 21
Yep I'm in France and Switzerland. Working at Pearltrees actually, not in web design but in Web in general. And you? by wallen Jan 20
It is nice, but the internet is advertised as 4 - 10 mb being the best. which is not fun. Are in in France? You look like your into web design. Am I correct? by gdyk Jan 20
Ah understand. Lucky you to be in Thailand! Love this country! by wallen Jan 20
Cheers mate, unfortunately, I have been having problems with my slow internet connection (I live in Thailand atm) so my tree often crashes half way through editing. but hopefully it is fixed up in time. I wish pearltrees had more active discussions, I think it is a great tool, cheers mate. by gdyk Jan 20
Hi there, very interesting account with great content! I just noticed that you had put pearls outside of the media and collaboration pearltrees. It's better when inside cause a pearltree is like a folder and you then fully benefit from Pearltrees social aspects. Cheers. Julien by wallen Jan 20
