BlastFollow! Hashtags. How to use Twitter before, during and after events. I've been asked to deliver a training session on the use of Twitter in event marketing, so thought I'd share here some of my thoughts thus far.
Make sure the event Twitter account is included in all event literatureSchmooze sponsors and speakers by commenting on stories relating to them (mentioning that they are speaking/sponsoring the event of course) Use lists to segment the Twitter accounts of speakers, sponsors and delegatesComment on topics that are discussed at the eventRespond to delegate queriesDefine the hashtag. You can search to see if it’s being used elsewhere at delegates a pack on how they can use social media at the eventRun a live blog at the event so that delegates don't need to take notesMention the hashtag in event literatureMention that there will be a tweet-up at a particular time/place (maybe in the bar after the event?)
