Data Design and the Orchestra. Data Design and the Orchestra OOM Creative are currently working with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) to visualise audience, ticketing and repertoire data. OOM Creative’s founder Greg More is a data designer in residence at the MSO: a residency co-funded by Australia Council for Arts to situate data, design & technical expertise within an arts organisation.

To date the residency has explored: - 20 years of repertoire data to illustrate relationships between performances, series & composers over time - 14 years of subscriber data to present changes in the MSO audience - Visualizing ticket sales to present trends in sales over the duration of a season. For the residency OOM Creative have been working with new web base visualization libraries to enable visualizations to be available on a range from devices from laptops to iPads, and also designing data models & systems to enable visualisations to be easily updated with the seasonal activities of the MSO.
