EduCase Portable Classroom

Rural areas, refugee camps and struggling nations need educational solutions which are portable and fully functional. In 2015 I conceived of this project after researching some of the real struggles experienced during the multiple refugee crisis's. In many camps there was little to no access to quality education for the youth. I wanted to build a fully functional classroom which would include computers (Raspberry Pis & Android systems), display, projectors, power source, cameras, communication systems (cellular and satellite downlink) and charging support (solar, home and auto). Over the past several months I have gathered much of the materials needed to assemble the project and have now started the assembly. To support the project I also devised a method of receiving "Outernet" internet data transmissions using a portable satellite dish. Efabrik - Le numérique au service du lien social.

Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM) allows to image the surface distribution of the atoms of a conductive sample. This new scanning probe microscope allows to obtain simultaneously different information maps, depending of the signal used for the distance regulation between the tip and the surface.

The core of this scanning probe microscope is a quartz piezoelectric tuning fork, kept in oscillation at its resonance frequency, where a platinum/iridium tip (Figure 1a)), with apex radius below of 100 nm, is fixed. Nul besoin de disposer d’un laboratoire de physique, avec un matériel coûteux et inaccessible, pour faire de la science et analyser efficacement les données collectées : avec un simple smartphone et votre ordinateur portable, votre « labo mobile », vous pouvez faire tout cela chez vous et partager ensuite sur le forum du MOOC vos expériences et vos idées.

Pour réaliser les expériences, aucun matériel supplémentaire n’est requis.
