Crossword Puzzles. Jordan: Making On-Line Quizzes. Return to Teachers' and Students' Resources page , site main page . Last Modified: 120831 I have found some utility in teaching to be able to create small, self-correcting review quizzes based on students' current reading or other class-related material. I have threfore created some web pages into which raw questions can be pasted or typed to generate such quizzes ready for use on teachers' web sites. I have made hundreds —possibly thousands— of quizzes for college freshmen using this software and have found the software reliable and the students enthusiastic. Some users have told me that what is available here is educationally superior to commercial products. You may create quizzes for free using these quiz-maker pages.
Features: Each quiz takes the form of an interactive web page which should be created here and then downloaded and placed on a teacher's site, where it can be accessed by students. The Java-Script clockwork that evaluates each quiz reports the results only to the student. Crossword puzzle maker. The Crossword puzzle maker is used to make simple crossword puzzles.
It turns out that good crossword puzzles of the type found in newspapers are fairly hard to generate, and require a pool of lots of words, not all of which are used. This program puts all of the words you specify (no more, no less) into a simple crossword puzzle. The puzzle that is generated will remain on this server for about two months. If you want to ensure that you have a copy of the generated puzzle, make sure you save a copy. If you want help with international characters, you can call up an Alphabet chart to use for cutting and pasting letters that are hard to type. The first part of this is for you to enter a list of words and clues.
Once that part is done, hit the Make Puzzle button for a puzzle which incorporates your words. As the number of words you put in the puzzle, increases, the wait increases exponentially. RISK. Magic the Gathering. Serious Game. Serious Games. Board Games. Serious Game.

Anyone who knows him in person would also know me, because we’re housemates. I’m willing to bet, though, that there are a few people(maybe on the internet) who know Keith and don’t know me. First off, you ought to be ashamed of yourself because I’m pretty darn amazing all-around and am especially good with kids (let me hang out with your dumb idiot kids!)
But if you want to get right down to it, my name is Blake Reynolds, and I try to make Keith’s games look pretty. I’ll be general custodian of The Art Barn, the new art column for Dinofarm Games. For those of you who are already artists, you’re probably way better than me. This first installment is about spriting or, in scientific terms, “makin’ little mans outa ‘puter squares” (there’ll be a lot of oh-ficial lingo so keep up, jerks!) "This...Looks...Awesome... Note from Peter Morrison: A friend of mine encouraged me to write this history of VIKTORY II so that players could see the metamorphosis of the game concept over time and also for the benefit of other gamers that were thinking of independently developing a board game.
Hopefully, this might help someone else avoid some of the pitfalls along the way. The initial inspiration came in March/April of 2003. There were two main influences: 1. Years of playing Axis & Allies and developing my own house rules for the different variants, particularly a set of combat rules which promoted combined arms, by allowing only one die per unit type engaged in battle, rather than per unit engaged. 2.
My wife and I were watching a movie at home and while she was gone on a pregnancy bathroom break, and the movie was paused, the idea came to me. The next day I composed the following email, writing up my thoughts for the new game. Here is a closeup of the troops. My mindset immediately changed. Rule Conundrums. Creative Whack Company. Upcoming Features High Scores Preferences Want it on Android? Board Game Design First Steps. Once you've completed (at least tentatively) the analysis phase of the process, it's time to begin to design your board game.
Because your board game will be only one part of some larger instructional environment, you have more freedom than is usual in instructional design and more opportunity to be creative. Anything that is not taught or reinforced well by your game will be taken care of by some other medium and format. Step 1: Content Analysis Immerse yourself in the content and generate as large a list as possible of elements of the topic.
This should be a free flowing process and is best done with a group of people. With large sheets of paper or a whiteboard in front of you, write down words that are associated with the topic of your game. Step 2: Incubation One of the magic things about creativity is that your mind works on problems without your knowing it. Step 3: Chunking Now it's time to take the list of content elements and put them into categories related to board games. . © B. Rules for the Game of Charades. Although Charades is typically thought of as a game in which one team competes against another, you can also play a simpler version I call Free-For-All.
Free-For-All. In this lackadaisical version the actor thinks up her own target name and all the other players try to name it. Presumably every actor will always choose a target that can be easily pantomimed. You may decide or not, as you like, that whoever does finally guess it first is the actor for the next round. Or you may decide to force a wallflower onto the stage.
Team play. Because some target names are harder than others, it's possible when using a written list that one team will get significantly more hard targets than the other team. In team play a randomly chosen target name is assigned to the first actor for Team A, and only her teammates make guesses. Compared to Free-For-All there are two significant drawbacks to the team-play version. Web Sudoku - Billions of Free Sudoku Puzzles to Play Online. Automatic Sudoku Solver. The Rubik's Cube Solution. How to Solve the Rubik's Cube in Seven Steps The world's most famous puzzle, simultaneously beloved and despised for it's beautiful simple complexity, the Rubiks Cube has been frustrating gamers since Erno Rubik invented it back in 1974.
Over the years many brave gamers have whole-heartedly taken up the challenge to restore a mixed Rubik's cube to it's colorful and perfect original configuration, only to find the solution lingering just out of their grasp time and time again. After spending hours and days twisting and turning the vaunted cube in vain, many resorted to removing and replacing the multi-colored facelets of the cube in a dastardly attempt to cheat the seemingly infallible logic of the cube, while others simply tossed it to the side and dubbed it impossible. The Rubik's cube, it seemed, had defeated all. Humanity required a solution, so intelligent gamers went to work to take down the so-called "frustration cube".
