Petal Pillow Tutorial. Today we’re going to make a Petal Pillow. Its very easy, cost me under ten bucks, and took about half an hour to make. Plus it will add lots of summer color (is it summer yet?) To your house. First you’ll need: -a little over a 1/2 yard of fabric….19 inches to be exact. You can get away with a half yard if you already have it, just cut your pieces to 18" instead of 19". I used home weight fabric from Joann’s. - 1/4 yard felt. . - a large and small cup (or other circles) for tracing, a large bowl for tracing, a pen, scissors, and cardstock to make your template.

Trace the rims of your cups onto your cardstock and cut out. Pin the templates to your felt and cut out circles. Cut out roughly 30 large circles, and 20 small circles. Now cut your circles in half. Now your going to cut your fabric into three pieces. 1 large square 19 inches x 19 in. , 1 rectangle 19 in. x 15 in. , and 1 rectangle 19 in. x 12 in. Line up the edge of a large petal along the line you just traced. Page corner bookmark for kids in Ideas for kids' crafts. Crafterhours: Tee to Tank: A Tutorial by Jen from Upcycled Education.

This is one of my favorite t-shirt refashions of all time. For a number of reasons. First, let me tell you that this t-shirt to tank refashion wasn’t my idea. Jen posted this on her facebook page and I jumped at the chance to have a crafty morning with her and watch her make it. Jen blogs at Upcycled Education– a blog I recommend you peruse, especially if you’re an educator– formally or informally. Second, it is soooo quick and easy that it takes less than half an hour. Third, it uses tees you probably already have a million of and don’t enjoy the fit of but have a hard time discarding. Fourth, this t-shirt to tank only requires a tee, scissors and thread.

So my girls and I spent a lovely morning yesterday with Jen and her daughter. Are you ready to see? One of Jen’s tips for this project is that you can use a tee that already fits well. In step 1 you’re making five cuts. Steps 2, 3 and 4 are pretty straightforward. So many options for the straps. And to make the straps? Bracelets made of leather and thread colors. Inserta las piezas centrales en los extremos de los hilos y fija con un poco de pegamento. DIY Doily Lamp. Dreamcatchers | {tutorial} I’m really diggin the whole hippy thing. And while Craig is quick to correct me on the fact that dream catchers are not hippy-ish, I still think of them that way. Natural, care free, simple. All things I relate to those old hippies. hah. The point of a dream catcher is to weed out bad dreams. This is not a traditional Native- American dream catcher.

What I used: Embroidery Hoop Yarn (or twine, hemp… whatever you have on hand) Beads Feathers Thread Felt Hot Glue Gun Want to make one too?? Grab your embroidery hoop, leave it as is, or wrap it up like I did. Take your webbing yarn and form a loop at the top, this will be where you dreamcatcher hangs from. The webbing is the same stitch through out. Pull tight and repeat. For your second (and every other row), use the same stitch, but instead of going over the hoop, go through the string: Keep going until the hole in the middle is to your liking. Now you can tie extra string where ever you’d like, some tie it to the actual hoop.

His view: How To Mix Chalkboard Paint in Any Color. We love using chalkboards as backdrops for displays and parties (like this one here!). So we were super excited to learn that you can create your own custom colors-and it's really easy! We first learned how from Martha Stewart whose tutorial you can read here. She recommends that you use latex paint, but we tried it out with acrylic paints with much success. Here's how you too can create your own chalkboard paint... Supplies: 1/2 cup acrylic paint (choose any color you like, or mix colors together to make the perfect shade!) 1. 2. Once your chalkboard has fully dried be sure to slate the surface before using it for the first time. Have fun creating any color combination you like!! - StumbleUpon. Hanging String Balls. Upcycling Broken China Tutorial. Ever break a glass or dish you love? Happens here all the time…..and I can never bring myself to throw the pieces away. I always have big plans to one day make a big mosaic wall or table…..but in the meantime I’ve decided to use the pieces for some smaller projects. This jar holds every single piece of porcelain from a Tiffany vase I broke a few years ago: My rotary tool and attachment set had all the pieces I needed to finish the edges and add a hole for this project: Most attachment kits come with a silicon carbide grinding stone attachment……it is strong enough to grind down the sharp edges of a dish shard: Note: Make sure to wear protective eyewear! First, I ground down the sharpest edges and then smoothed down the sides as much as possible: Then I used an abrasive finishing buff attachment to smooth the edges even more.

A thinner silicone carbide grinding attachment is perfect for grinding a hole through the porcelain shard: A perfect, smooth hole: Pretty and so simple. P.S. Pick a Pocket Cozies. Both pretty and practical, pocket cozies have the perfect space to tuck in some extra sweetener or an extra teabag for later! So we saw this tutorial the other day and thought it was brilliant. Hence, the name. I think I watched the video about 7 times because what I thought was happening in the video wasn't working on my hair. I figured I (Casey) would take some pictures and explain to you exactly what I figured out. Basically... you should have semi-dirty hair, or product to texturize your hair. Pull your hair together to one side. Grab the bottom of your hair and pull through the hole. To make sure you don't have one big hole down the middle of your "braid", put your fingers through one side of the last twist.

Finish with a clear elastic and you are done! A Mason of One’s Own. One thing that we get a lot of envy of over in the Land Beyond Beyond, are the beautiful little mason jars. These beauties are ubiquitous when it comes to the expectations that we have of weddings Americana style. But, well the closest that we come to here are the Robinson’s marmalade jars – which really don’t do it for us – we love the look and feel of the lovely Mason’s. They have this chunky solid feel that we just love. So, of course you could colour us happy when we happened upon the Pure and Noble blog (check it out there are a whole load of lovely finds up in there). And we love that Brooke has repurposed some Mason Jars with spray paint – it tis rather epic.

The photographic glory goes to: Brooke of Pure and Noble About the author I'm the big kahuna with the whole shebang. Circle Zip Earbud Pouch Tutorial - Dog Under My Desk. I use a little zippered pouch to carry around my earbuds since they are the fancy microphone ones and I don’t want them to break or get tangled.

Some of you have commented that you are looking for some small, simple gift ideas. This is definitely simple to make, and a little more fun than the typical rectangular zippered pouch! I can see these as the perfect gift for teenage cousins or nieces or girlfriends or even teacher gifts. Fun, quick, and cute! It doesn’t take very much fabric so you could even use scraps! Sometimes I have the perfect fabric for something but I only have a fat quarter, or I want to make something extra with the leftovers from another project. This is perfect for that. UPDATE: I have completely re-written this tutorial with twice as many bright, clear photos and more detailed instructions and it is available as a pattern in my pattern shop. First, download the pattern template HERE. Cut from main fabric: 1 circle 2 half circles 1 tab Now make the tab for the side. Most favorited all-time.

Nifty Ribbon & Button No Slip Bookmark. DIY : Mason Jar To-Go Cup. How many crafts involving mason jars is this now for me? I've lost count. I've seen a few Mason Jar to-go cups floating around etsy and tumblr and decided it was way to easy (and cute!) Of a project for me to not give it a try! I think this took less then five minutes, even counting the time it took to wash the jar out. You'll need : A Mason Jar with lid, reusable straws (I got mine from Starbucks), #14 stainless finishing washers (I grabbed these from Home Depot in the washers/nuts/bolts section), Cropodile (optional), oh and a glue gun!

Start by punching a hole in the center of your lid (you could also poke the hole out with a hammer and nail if you don't have one of these fancy little cropadiles), you'll most likely need to widen it, so you can cut a few more around it to widen it // fill the inside of your washer with hot glue (try not to overfill), and carefully (it's hot!) I think the hardest part might be deciding what drinks to put in it. FASTEST FRIENDSHIP BRACELET EVER. We were super excited to share the Fishtail Friendship bracelet tutorial with you and we are even more excited to share that we've found an easier way to do it. Don't get me wrong, I will still use the original technique to create more intricate designs but, this new tutorial is so quick you will end up wanting to make one in every color combination possible (like we did!)

This tutorial is very similar to the other one so I will just share with you the differences. 1. You will only need to choose three colors of embroidery/friendship thread. Cut two pieces of each color at around 3 feet each. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. To see more detailed instructions of the end steps please refer to this tutorial. P.S. DIY Braided T-Shirt Bracelets.
