Literary Clock

This is a really easy project that hardly needs explanation. Once you see the idea, I'm sure you'll come up with all sorts of cool variations. *The book needs to be hardcover with a reasonably simple cover (not too much text). It should also be quite thin and large enough for the clock hands. http://www.instructables.com/id/Literary-Clock/

WELL WORN: Faux Real: Luxe Snow Globes

How amazing is this styling by Anthropologie ?! Although I don't think I would be OK with submerging expensive jewellery, antique stores or flea markets often yield inexpensive yet interesting pieces that would be perfect for a DIY like this. You could even use Christmas ornaments, but be sure to use a sealant if your dec is prone to rust. http://www.well-worn.com/2009/12/faux-real-luxe-snow-globes.html
Jessica of Wednesday Inc shows us how to make those gorgeous twine chandeliers from the inspiration shoot she shared with us this morning. Using balloons, glue and twine, you can also make these lanterns for your wedding – and then bring it home and use it as your very own mid century lampshade. What you will need are: balloons, glue, yarn, tray for glue, corn starch 1/2 cup of Corn starch, 1/4 cup of Warm water, clear fast drying spray paint, hanging lamp cord or fishing line (depending on your desired final product), and a lighting kit if you’re looking for a fully functional lantern. Jessica recommends using a sharpie to mark on the inflated balloon how much room you need to leave for the lighting cord. http://ruffledblog.com/diy-string-wedding-chandelier/

Make Your Own Gifts LIGHT BULB TERRARIUM – Green Holiday Gift Guide

Present your favorite deskmonkey with a little world to escape to on their lunch break. Fill a light bulb that’s run out of juice with soil, moss, shells and other trinkets to create the perfect lilliputian landscape for the stressed out citydweller on your list to gaze into before they have to get back to collating papers and color coding spreadsheets for the man.

DIY Solar Lamp: Make Your Own Eco-Friendly Sun Jars | Designs & Ideas on Dornob

The principle is simple and seductively clever: solar lights that store energy during the day and release light at night. These can be purchased ready-made in a variety of colors (yellow, blue and red) but they can also be built at home . A simple, less-technical approach involves buying a conventional solar-powered yard lamp and then essentially harvesting it for key pieces to put in a jar. This is simply a way of taking an existing solar lamp design and appropriating its parts to make something more attractive for display around a house or home. http://dornob.com/diy-solar-lamp-make-your-own-eco-friendly-sun-jars/

http://www.designmom.com/2010/11/diy-monogram-mugs/ Friends! I’m so pleased to share our first gift DIY of the season. Maude made these fantastic monogrammed mugs over the weekend. Don’t they look terrific? The idea came when we saw these fun initial cups at Anthropologie and remembered our kitchen was lacking in hot cocoa mugs. We decided to create a whole set.

Wednesday - Blog - DIY Streamer&Flowers - StumbleUpon

In the spirit of all the DIY projects we have going on to prepare for our everee Wednesday fun-shoot with ee photography later this month, I wanted to share one of my favorite projects yet!!! Streamer Flowers. Let me just preface this post with saying as much as I wish I could take credit for how brilliant this project is, I certainly was inspired by Olivia Kanaley of A Field Journal as seen on The Bride's Cafe . If you're willing to put in a little time and effort, seeing as it's not incredibly easy, you will find that the reward is completely worth the effort!

Anthro Necklace Week - Paisley Rebirth Necklace & Flamingo Toes - StumbleUpon

It's chilly outside here today and I'm loving it! I enjoyed every minute of reaching into the closet and pulling out soft cozy blankets, snuggling up on the couch with my blanket and laptop to check my e-mail this morning... Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of temps below 40 degrees, but a high of 65, I'll take it! I ripped my fabric strips so they were a bit frayed on the edges, personal choice. Clip three strips together and braid.
